My fiancé purchased a beautiful engagement ring for me in November. I brought the ring in 2 weeks later to have it sized to fit my finger. The woman I spoke to was kind enough, fitted my finger and said they would ship it out to be sized and call me when it returned (she couldn’t provide me a time frame, which is whatever). 4 weeks later (this past Saturday) I hadn’t received any update so I called them to check the status. I was told that my ring was in! Super excited but why hadn’t they called? How long had it been ready?
I stopped in the next day to pick up the ring while my fiancé waited in the car at the end of the walking mall. I tried it on and it fit. I began walking away and the female employee says, “Oh wait, it’s $85. Is that ok?” I said “it’s an engagement ring, that’s not included in the original price?” She states “let me let you speak to Steve” (I believe was his name). An older gentleman comes to speak to me 5 minutes later and says, “is there a problem?” I very kindly explained how I was unaware that there would be a charge for a ring sizing. I was not told when I came to be fitted or when I called to see if my ring was available. I explained that my fiancé purchased the ring and was told that they could size it to fit my finger, but never mentioned a price. His response was, “I was here when he bought it, I never said it was free! It cost me $24 to ship it out and $15 to insure the package..” I responded, “I didn’t say that you told him it was free, Sir, I simply stated that it was never mentioned. Let me run back to my car and grab my wallet.” I just wanted my ring and was willing to pay this fee.
I returned to the store with my debit card and provided it to the gentleman. He left for a few minutes and came back to tell me his credit card machine was broken. He apologized and said I’ve been calling Verizon all morning to try to get this fixed. I was wearing the ring at this point and he asked me to go to an ATM to get cash. I thought to myself, “why wouldn’t he have told me the first time I had left to get my wallet that his machine was broken and he needed cash?” I’m getting pretty frustrated at this point. I agreed to go to the bank at the end of the walking mall. As I began to walk away the gentleman states, “you need to leave the ring here. Until you pay that $85 that’s MY ring.” I walk back to the counter and explained that my fiancé paid for this ring in full in November and I didn’t appreciate being spoken to that way. I laid the ring on the counter and began to walk away again. He yells, “you still have MY ring!” I said, “it’s on your counter.” I asked my fiancé to go back in to pay the gentleman the $85 cash and I stayed in the car because at the point I was crying. I loved to support a local business and have a beautiful, one of a kind ring. But this experience was one...
Read moreThis local craftsman is phenomenal. The jewelry is amazing and are all one of a kind. The shop is quaint but it is perfect for displaying their wares. The one drawback is, the shop is open two days a week for limited hours. That being said, it is worth the effort to get there if you're in the market for handcrafted,...
Read moreI have good memories of this store, but I don’t think I will return. The merchandise is nice, the prices not terrible, but not a bargain. I have bought many things here, but the last few times I have visited I dealt with the older woman and she was just nasty to me. I...
