I usually come to winchester to let my husband spend time at the game stores in the area. I usually have him drop me off at a starbucks so I can have my iced caramel macchiato and a quiet place to read. While I tend to keep to myself and not get involved in public discourse. I felt this time was necessary. As a patron of starbucks for several years, I am concerned for the company and for the barista who I saw get ridiculed in the lobby. I was sitting reading my book when a manager got unprofessional with a barista. I am unsure the context however, she berated the girl in the middle of the lobby. Shouldn't this be done in the back? I thought to myself. Like if you are going to yell at a barista in the manner which she did, don't do it in front of the customers. I'm sure other customers felt just as uncomfortable as I did. This isn't the warm welcoming environment that Starbucks claimed to have. She treated that girl poorly and asked her if she wanted to basically get fired. Like I said, I'm not sure what happened to let it escalate to that, but again, I would think the manager would handle that more professionally. I think I'm going to go to a different starbucks in the area, which is unfortunate as the baristas always make my drink correct here which is not true for all stores. We order cold brew that isn't cold brew (It tastes just like regular iced coffee), they don't make the requested drinks properly, and there's often something not right with what we order. Yesterday the cold brew we ordered tasted very weird. And hardly had any cream. I ordered the sweet cream vanilla cold brew and there was no sweet cream at all! Or vanilla!
