Benny's Tacos — Restaurant in Windcrest

This was a take out order visit. I gave a tip, testing the waters to see the improvement on service, but there was no difference, or even a thank you.

I ordered a couple of different tacos for my family. I will only give you an opinion on my order. I ordered for myself a carne quisada with cheese, which was good, and bacon egg and cheese, which the bacon had been chopped up that I could not hardly taste or see, and the egg was dry, very overcooked for scrammbled eggs. The price was expensive for the received quantity, and they lacked even good customer service skills. The staff spoke English very well, but chose to speak Spanish around me. The cashier walked away, and I waited 15 minutes, and when I asked the hostess to get her for me to place a drink order before I left, the hostess did not get her for me or call out for her. She just told me she would be back. I heard the cashier talking and laughing in the back. I had to yell out excuse me two times to get her attention to return to the front.

This is my opinion. I will not visit again. I would rather try a food chain like Taco Cabana, then to go back to Benny's....first...

So far everything I've ordered from Benny's has been great. I've tried the Fajita tacos, many of the breakfast tacos, the enchilada plates, the chicken mole plate, and the bunuelos when they have them, and everything was good or impressive.

Service is super fast almost all the time, and drive thru lines zip along even when wrapped around the building for breakfast. I only wish they were open in the evening for dinner.

The chicken mole enchilada plate is amazing. I always order with extra mole sauce, its some of the better enchilada mole I've had. If your really hungry try the Carne Asada lunch plate. Its a huge serving of grilled beef with onions and peppers, rice and beans, salad, and tortillas. For less then $7 this plate is a bargain. Its got amazing flavor and is up there with some of the carne asada I've gotten at my favorite food trucks.

This plate is great, you need to check it out if you haven't already. Food is cheap, food is tasty and...

Overpriced and not bilingual. They got our order wrong twice back to back in the same week. Not worth the coffee...Well I came back for another try and was immediately regretting it. Again no communication really with the waitress and she tended our table once and that was it till we were finished. There menudo is from the can just FYI,and their jalapeno was stale slimy and old. Basically no fresh ingredients. Their caldo is flavorless and disgusting and they have no respect for the dish. They dropped a bone in pork chop cut in the caldo and thought we wouldn't care...my girl was appalled at it. We ended up sharing my canned menudo with lemon... because for dumb reason or another they don't carry limes. Bad management bad kitchen staff and horrible waitresses who only speak Spanish...We are in America and In Texas at that...learn a little English out of respect...
