OMG, the Korean food here is the real deal and I can't believe you can dine on such amazingly delicious dishes, way out here in a town like Winnemucca!! My wife and I saw the billboards on the interstate and decided to stop in and give it a try and I have to say, the taste of everything we had brought me back home to when I was a kid. Living in Carson City, there's nothing out there like this and even in Reno, I can't say I've found anything this good. Aside from me cooking it myself, I'd have to go to Sacramento or Vegas to find anything close. From what I understand, the location next to the old Ridley's is new and when we got there, it was just before the dinner rush. Needless to say, the parking lot was empty at the time and we almost second guessed ourselves for coming here. When we were greeted by a very nice non-Korean girl, we hesitated even more. However, once our food arrived, all doubts were cast aside for sure! On this trip, we ordered pan fried wontons as an appetizer and split their Chap Jae and Spicy Pork Bulgogi and of course, got a side of Kimchee as well. ALL were just like home and simply amazing! As far as atmosphere goes, the dining room felt like it used to be an old Mexican restaurant and so it felt comfortable and welcoming. Very quite and even after the crowds came it and I should note, there were a surprising amount of people who showed up after us and on a Wednesday evening, it was still easy to have a quite conversation. Service was very fast and super friendly and all around, I have to say this is definitely a place you need to stop in and enjoy. I highly recommend it especially if you like big bold flavor.

Tourist Trap — Overpriced, Tiny Portions, Rude Staff, and Misleading Reviews We had one of the most disappointing dining experiences at Koreana Korean Cuisine in Winnemucca. This place is a textbook example of a highway stopover tourist trap — not somewhere locals would ever return to. Despite the 4.6 Google rating, what we got was nowhere near acceptable for the nearly $60 we paid for just three dishes: • Chap Jae ($15.95): The box was barely 1/3 full — it looked more like leftovers than a fresh order. • Bulgogi ($19.95): Just a few thin slices of meat, one small scoop of rice, and a few sad pieces of kimchi — not even enough for a kid. • Bi Bim Bap ($18.95): Equally unimpressive — and definitely not worth the price. And here’s what made the experience worse: 1. We arrived at 5:00 PM, and the restaurant was completely empty. Yet we were told we’d have to wait 30 minutes for a to-go order. These dishes clearly don’t take that long to prepare. 2. When we expressed concerns about the portion sizes after picking up the food, the owner offered no real solution — just tossed in a spoon of rice and rudely told us to leave. No apology. No acknowledgment. 3. Since this was a take-out order, I’m especially glad I didn’t leave a tip — this place doesn’t deserve one. Bottom line: This restaurant is NOT for locals. It’s designed to take advantage of unsuspecting travelers passing through. The high reviews are misleading, and the service is unprofessional and borderline hostile.

Please read other recent reviews. We came here also because they had. 4.6 rating. Pros: tasty food What can be improved. My recommendations. Please include silverware in each takeout order. If I had not asked we would’ve left without silverware to eat with. Better service. Older white guy bald looks like his wife forces him to work there. Please hire someone pleasant to offer better customer service and smile at customers. Portion sizes are small for what you are paying. Could be because it is in the middle of no where but our plate of food came out to 30.75 after tip. Which we ordered online. Barely any kimchi as you can see in photo and not too much rice. I understand that beef ribs are expensive but please don’t skimp on rice and kimchi which are not. We don’t mind paying more for food but if we are going to we would like a fair amount. For context we ordered two sandwiches earlier that day for combined total of 30$ tri tip and burnt ends bbq sandwiches. Also we tried to call in order but they have it automated to where you have to order online. I would understand this service if they were super busy but they were not when we got there there was only two tables. I may be a little petty but this is the truth and I’m glad others are also speaking up. Also as you can see the owner doesn’t like to take ownership and likes to argue with his customers lol.

I've been here twice. The first time, was several months ago and we didn't even make it to ordering drinks. The staff was arguing and after 15 minutes of not even being greeted, our party of 5 left. We had enough time to seat ourselves and figure out our entire order and still hadn't been acknowledged. Then, last week. We went for my sons birthday. He loves ramen so he requested we try Koreana again. The staff was 100% better. We were greeted properly, our orders were taken promptly. I think it's odd that they wont put the food under a heater, they send it out as it's finished. So half of us watched our food get cold in front of us while we waited for the others to get their food. I'm not talking about a 5-10 minute wait, I mean 20 minutes+. We finally let the kids start eating and they were finished before everyone had food. Now, it was a busy night. It looked like there was only one person in the kitchen and there were about 6 or 7 tables, about 20 people. The 2 servers appeared to go in the back and help the "chef" as well, which I appreciated. They went above and beyond and brought my son out a birthday cake and sang him "happy birthday" which I thought was sweet. We sat there for almost 2 hours and finally got up and went to the podium to pay. That is a long time to sit in very uncomfortable seats and we just wanted to go home. Overall, I think the staff was absolutely doing their best. Kudos.

Now, the food was very disappointing. As I mentioned the food coming out as it's ready was just one problem. We ordered boba and I have been drinking boba for 15+ years. I make my own boba tea at home. This boba was, without a doubt, the soda can boba from Walmart. If this is your only experience with boba, please for the love of all things delicious, go to Thai Lotus in Reno and get one of their boba beverages. Or, order real boba pearls and thai tea leaves online and follow the instructions with a homemade thai tea with boba recipe. Nobody was of age to serve alcohol, which was disappointing, but they were able to give us unopened beverages like beer bottles, so at least there's that, I guess. Though I'm a sucker for a cocktail. A fruity cocktail with legit boba would've been wonderful. The wontons were, without a doubt, the frozen ones from walmart. I know this because I buy them and stick them in the air fryer. They're not bad, but if I'm paying for restaurant food, I don't want to eat something I could've bought from Walmart for a fraction of the price. And if you've never had homemade wontons, you're missing out. My son had ramen and it was relatively bland. My dad had bibidy boppity boo (idk bibibap) and that was one of the dishes we watched get cold. Legit came out sizzling and we watched it get COLD waiting for everyone's food. That might have been the most interesting dish. I ordered my daughter teriyaki chicken, and the teriyaki sauce tasted exactly like Walmart brand teriyaki. You know, the one I buy and have to add ghost pepper honey to bring it to life. I've had a lot of teriyaki in my life and this was the worst I've ever had from a restaurant. I was convinced they purchased those frozen teriyaki meals and heated it up. My yakisoba was not terrible, but i still think they purchased the generic premade sauce and called it good. Still the worst I've ever had, but I've had some amazing teriyaki in my life.

I moved here from Washington 1.5 years ago and let's be honest, there's a lot of Asians there, which means a lot of authentic Asian restaurants. This place is only in business because there is ZERO competition. Please do not let this place be your opinion of...
