🍪The Crumbl Cookies Experience ( Walk-in Edition). I mean, who doesn't like cookies. Just saying chocolate chip cookies make my mouth water. I tried Crumbl Cookies on word of mouth. After all, when I went to their website, it said, "The world's best cookies are available in Winston-Salem, North Carolina." So I was excited to try them out. I went inside their location and got one Dulce de Leche - a spiced cinnamon cookie covered in swirls of rich dulce de leche and thick cream cheese frosting. Two Chocolate Chip cookies - a cookie with milk chocolate chips and one Classic Sugar cookie.
After I ordered, I had to find space to stand as the inside is not that big. I found myself standing somewhat in the way of people coming into the door. Taking in the store and watching their production process of making cookies, I saw the cashier assisting with putting frosting on the Dulce de Leche cookies. Although this is productive during downtime, I witness the cashier not using gloves. I know this location is still relatively new, and mishaps will happen.
Nevertheless, the packaging of Crumbl Cookies is beautiful. When you have a good product, of course, you want to make sure the vessel it leaves in represents the quality within. Once tasting the cookies, I felt like it was good. I mean, you get a nice size cookie. The Dulce de Leche has a nice and sweet touch. The Classic Sugar cookie was delicious, and the Chocolate Chip was good and chunky. Oh, and did I mention I walked out with warm cookies? Oh yes, the cookies were warm and calling my name. So, would I go back? I would go back. However, I will not be back if I see staff who handle money, making or decorating cookies again...
Read moreNor having a Crumbl in my hometown, I enjoy visiting this store when I come to Winston Salem. Today however was a major disappointment. The first thing that seemed off was that sitting in the prep area, visible to all, were two 16oz containers of Great Value light sour cream. These two containers sat there for the duration of my rather lengthy visit. This seemed odd to me as the air conditioning was struggling and the whole establishment was hot. (Not safe for dairy products left unrefrigerated). Also in the kitchen area were two employees putting filling on the cream cheese cookies with their fingers! While they were gloved, watching them use their fingers instead of a spatula of some sort, seemed a bit out of line and made me question the order I had already placed and paid for. I ordered 4 cookies, two of which were the strawberry frosted cookies which state they are served chilled. My cookies arrived hot, as in the box felt like I just bought a pizza, hot. Not that I am against warm cookies, but imagine the frosting presentation on a HOT cookie. Not one employee mentioned that the normally cold cookies, were today a runny mess. Before you think they were "understaffed", I should mention there were seven employees working. Seven. You would think one if those could have greeted me. :( Crumbl cookies are intended to be an "experience" and an indulgence. I certainly didn't expect a Dollar Tree experience for your prices. Super dissatisfied customer here. (Might want to refrigerate that sour cream before the health department...
Read moreI try to only leave positive reviews online, but I was deeply alarmed after my most recent visit and am hoping this gets the owners attention since I am not sure that the review I left in the app will be seen. I’m very concerned about the cleanliness of this store as there were crumbs and crumpled up/dirty napkins all over the counters and floors, the box my items came in was covered in toppings and random ingredients because the employee packing my order did everything while wearing gloves that were completely covered in different toppings and frosting. The cup that my cake came in had to be wiped down with soap and water because it was so sticky and covered in random ingredients that it got stuck to the shelf in my fridge. There was old frosting and chocolate caked onto the container that was impossible to get off due to how much it had hardened. Everything went straight in the trash when I got home because of the things I saw during my visit, specifically the way that the food is handled. Pretty appalling, especially considering how much it costs to buy a box of six cookies at Crumbl. Please be cautious and pay attention to how they are handling your food before...
