prior to covid I was a frequent visitor of this location as my office was a short distance away
My daughters and I went to lunch at this location about a week ago. Upon entering we noticed that there were less than 20 patrons in the restaurant. My oldest daughter ordered a drink from the bar, it was too strong so she sent it back and ordered something different. The 2nd drink tasted like soda, instead of sending it back again she decided to keep it.
We all ordered completely different dishes. I ordered the apple walnut salad and added grilled chicken. When the food arrived I noticed that the chicken was missing from my salad. I let our waitress know, she apologized and said she would get it out to me asap. I sat for over 30 minutes waiting for the chicken. My daughters had completed their meals and ordered a dessert. The dessert and the chicken for my salad were brought to the table at the same time smh. At that point, I was ready to leave, we asked for boxes for the remaining food and I asked to speak with a manager.
The manager approached the table, didn't give her name or anything. She asked what the problem was and I explained our experience. She stated 'If you don't want the salad now, I will take it to the kitchen and we will just throw it away'. I explained that I wanted my salad, which is why I ordered it but I felt that having to wait that long for the chicken (remember 30+ mins) was unacceptable. Her attitude became very rude and nasty and said she would give a discount for the salad and that's it. I continued to express issues with our experience and her next statement was completely unprofessional, 'I mean what else do you want me to do, I am giving you the salad. I'm not going to do anything else for you!' At that point I told her to just bring the check so that we could pay and leave. She never apologized, didn't give her name and was completely unprofessional.
After being a loyal customer and referring lots of people, this really doesn't sit right with me and I will not be...
Read moreHaving to use a chair as a table for a person in a wheelchair is considered acceptable by the staff at this restaurant. They truly saw no problem with it at all and argued with me about thinking it was wrong. Tonight, we went to Sixty-Six with a group of friends. I had made the reservation over a month ago and specified the number of people and the fact there would be a wheelchair. When I called for a final confirmation this afternoon, the reservation had disappeared. However, I was assured it would be NO PROBLEM to have seating for a group of 11 with the wheelchair. When we arrived and taken to our table, there was barely enough room for the abled bodied folks to sit. (Luckily, although we were sad, two were not able to show up so it was only 8 trying to squeeze into the space.). There was however no room for my mom to sit in her wheelchair. I literally had her sitting in a space with NO table in front of her. For her food, I had to use a chair. The server apparently had NO problem with setting a plate of food ON A CHAIR. After we were finished eating, an hour after our arrival, two workers came to see if everything was ok. I quickly explained that no it was not and showed them. They claimed to have just found out about it when it was brought to their attention. Note, at least one had helped serve the food at our table. They truly saw nothing wrong with the situation and argued with me that there was plenty of room for my mom to sit at the end of the table because it has been done multiple times. (I go out often with my mom. We have sat in some pretty uncomfortable situations. If I felt it was possible to make this work, I most definitely would have!) This restaurant should be ASHAMED of the way they treated an elderly disabled person. ASHAMED!!!!!!!!! I would NEVER suggest anyone go here, and in the past I have recommended it many...
Read moreLet me advise up front that this is not a complete review. It is a very specific circumstance that prompted this visit. I ran out of the house without my wallet & almost didn't have enough for dinner. But I scratched together enough $. I only wanted salad anyway & thought that it didn't seem that there would be too significant of a sacrifice anyway. Wow! Did I learn something. There are few and I mean Very Few salad bar opportunities any more. And most of the ones that do exist are one trip only, ala-carte, pay by weight or worse = assembled by someone else. There truly a very few all you can eat salad bars out there, any more. And sibce that was what I wanted in Winston last night. My online search brought me here. My only negative issue was that they seemed determined to sit me in the bar & I am a non-drinker & didn't appreciate it. But enough said of that. First of all, Let me not miss the major focused reason for this review. They have a wonderful salad bar. A great selection of fresh greens, an excellent offerring of vegetable accessories, a nice array of accompanying cheeses, including real bleu cheese & feta, good assoetment of pasta & potatoe salads (I liked the bowtie pasta), a great add-on of fruits & sweet compliments [including banana pudding, which was pretty good], some sunflower seed, dried raisin & cranberry, and last but not least, a great variety of homespun dressings. Finally - the service was mehhh. It seemed that they had already concluded since I was only a salad bar customer, that they weren't going to make much & that was fine with me. I wanted to be left alone, to my thoughts anyway. The value was terrific. A really nice all you can eat salad bar, for slightly under $10 before tax. Awesomeness!! I have included a pic of my dinner check which includes the beverage. It sure was what I...
