The Honey Baked Ham Company — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

This place is near the mall parking lot off Stratford Rd. It's parking lot & entrance is handicap friendly. However you must know that this popular establishment closes pretty early oddly enough..... @ 630PM. They are quite expensive for the type of food they offer. You can get sandwiches (but they quit preparing them approx an hr b4 closing time), bone in ham, sliced turkey & ham (by the lb), sweet Hawaiian rolls (sold 2 u from the cooler) + a variety of sides (frozen...so b prepared 2 "take & bake" them b4 u can enjoy). A few of the sides they offer r: macaroni & cheese, green bean casserole, loaded mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole + 3-4 more options. Also sell a variety of mustards 2 go w/ur food. The food is definitely delicious (not sure if it's worth the price) but it is meant more as a meal 4 larger groups than as a choice to feed 1 or 2 people. Be prepared to stand in line bc the place is usually packed with ppl since it is the only 1 n Winston especially around the holidays. I would try them out next time u r having a get 2gthr w/ ur friends...

This year for thanksgiving, we decided to have very special company join us. My mother INSISTED on getting a special ham from this place specifically. We spent over $60 on a small spiral ham and to say we were disappointed is an understatement. We have gotten spiral hams from a grocery store that were much larger and much better quality than the tiny ham we were sold. The gentlemen working there seemed very knowledgeable and trustworthy they were very friendly and helpful- however, they said to only let the ham sit out to reach room temperature. They specifically said do not heat it up or it would dry out. So come dinner time we have Luke warm/cold ham and when we reheated it the next day it in fact did NOT dry out and was better. HOWEVER, my mom has been a patron of yours for many years and swore by the quality of your meat, just to feel embarrassed and let down about insisting on your products AND her money wasted. It was my first time buying from them and it was also my last time. Mom will not...

Today I purchased 2 half boneless hams for Thanksgiving. After purchase I had to go back inside to speak with a Manager (person in charge) I was directed to this person and as I was speaking to this person ; very politely (asking a simple question) these other workers/cashiers chimed in on the conversation. If this person was actually a Manager why couldn’t they address me alone without the choir chiming in?? And he just let them speak as if I was speaking to THEM and not HIM.. please please HIRE Managers who can take charge and be in charge…and professionalism wouldn’t hurt either!!! It was a conversation between A and B and all the C’s chimed in!!!By the way it was very early morning and not as busy as usual so I guess they had nothing else to do!!! If I needed their two cents I would have asked for it…or is this how Honey Baked Ham operate...
