My friends, family, and I went for dinner tonight. We made a reservation for 7 people at 6. My pregnant girlfriend and i arrived few min before everyone else and they refused to seat us and i stated that she is 8 months pregnant and would like to sit. Was told" if one of the 2 seats they have for waiting opened up she could sit there". Unbelievable how this place operates. I feel like it like a hussle and they get u in charge u whatever, treat u poorly and call police if u dont abide by their odd operation. Started off fast and things were great. Food tasted great. But after 5 or 6 meats the same stuff came out 3 times. I asked how many meats and was told 16. After that 2 more came out so 8 meats. We all felt scammed out of a lot of money and not allowed to pay our own checks because we had 7 people. 7 people that all will leave a review exposing this place and its shady tactics.Mediocre service. The kicker was when we got the bill and everything was on one check. We asked them to separate it and was told only 2 different payments can be excepted. This was a 650$ bill. We were left there with 7 people on phones trying to use calculators to figure it all out . I explained that we have no way to pay this unless we have our separate checks as nobody had 650 in account to cover whole thing. Waitress got manager and by the time she came over I had called someone to zelle me money so I could cover on my card and figure out how to get money from everyone else over next few days. The manager just said sorry. There is no law stating that we need to pay this way and was never mentioned before eating. At the end of a nice nite with friends they hand u a book and say do math. All in all they ruined what was a good time in this establishment. Unreal to force someone to ask someone to borrow money till u see them to give them cash. We all had money to pay our own bills and tip accordingly. This place has multiple reviews on this same issue. None of us have ever experienced anything like this. Other reviews state on multiple occasions that this place calls police on patrons that obviously have issues with this and refuse to pay on one check. Like go split the damn checks up and call it a day. They charge plenty to be able to accommodate this service. The last thing i would like to throw in there is to be aware of their Sneaky water tactic. They r trained to try to trick u into paying for $8 bottles of water. We were asked if we wanted distilled or sparkling water. We chose distilled and were not offered fountain or surly we would have gotten the free water. We had 40$ plus tax on bill. They present it to u in a way that u dont think u r paying for it. I will be notifying corporate of this issue and hopefully they have more to say than"sorry" but doubtful. So update on their customer relations. Received an email back after explaining everything in this review and was offer a 20$ coupon. Didn't even cover have the water we were scammed out of let alone all the other issues that made this by far the worst dining experience that anyone of us has had. Not that a 200 $ coupon would ever get us to step a foot back in there. The customer relations team obviously don't see the seriousness of situation so I contacted one of our local news stations and they have contacted me twice and r going to investigate and expose this place. Shame on u and ur team of waitstaff...
Read moreI usually never write negative reviews for restaurants because I always give the benefit of the doubt when I have a bad experience. Unfortunately this case is a crude exception to my moral beliefs. I usually go to the Texas De Brazil in Pittsburgh and love it there but this time we chose this one because my friend lives nearby. You'll wanna buckle down and listen to how crazy and hard to believe this story is. Upon arriving at the resaurant, the greeter kept staring us down which was a very uncomfortable start to our visit. After sitting we started receiving our meat and it was extremely inconsistent in terms of how well done it was. We asked for medium cooked steak but it was coming to us either practically raw or extremely well done. No matter how many times we indicated this detail to the staff, they were unable to fix the inconsistency problem. Then we asked for the lamb chops that we usually get for free at the other location and they said that we actually have to pay for them. They assured us that the lamb chops weren't free at any location but a quick call to the Pittsburgh location said otherwise and the staff refused to acknowledge it. This would have been the major complaint but it is just the beginning of this rollercoaster. We received the mashed potatoes which were extremely garlicy and watery. The fried bananas were the death sentence for the dwindling experience, they came as thick as rubber and completely bitter. I'm used to them being edible but I had to spit these out. We asked the manager (Nicole) why the bananas were so nasty and her careless explanation was that they weren't ripe and if we wanted she could get us some more unripe fried bananas which was ridiculous. She saw the dismay on our face when we got the second serving and said that she already told us that none of them were gonna be ripe. We stayed for a couple more hours to make up for the $70 we were each paying and the staff slowly got ruder. Obviously we decided to write bad reviews for how horrific of an experience this was and when we left the staff was extremely cold to us. Shortly after leaving, the incompetent excuse of a manager Nicole called me and said that we were banned from all locations because we expressed our opinions online and she continued to cuss the hell out of me and hung up. We called back while recording the conversation and got the manager admitting to banning us for the mere fact that we expressed how bad the management was at the restaurant and she hung up again. After calling back again and telling Nicole we got the conversation on video and were going to show it to corporate, she got pissed off and started being rude nonchalantly. I know you are probably looking at this review right now Nicole but don't worry, I am gonna continue eating at other locations while knowing that corporate got rid of you and your dictator of an assistant manager. I recommend no one eat at this location and look for the videos which are going to be posted shortly on YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook, I will tag the official accounts for Texas De Brazil. Good...
Read moreThis night was an absolute debauchery. I would never expect such poor management and service from an establishment as fine as this.
Firstly, when we were sat for a wait time at 6:46 we were told 45 to 50 minutes by the host Marcus. The manager, who's name I was told is Nicole, assured us it would probably be sooner because a lot of the reservations hadn't shown up. 45 is a little bit of a wait. But not a deal breaker. At the 50 minute mark, nothing. Hour mark, nothing, Hour 15 nothing. Finally at 8:18 we were called. We absolutely would have went somewhere else if we were truthfully given wait times. If you feel like it's an hour and half wait time, that's fine. That's on us for a walk in. We would have just came back a different day. No harm, no foul. But when you give us a time frame as a manager, who's job would entail the knowledge of how the customer traffic behaves regularly, I would anticipate that you have in fact truthfully informed us.
Secondly, our waitress Alexis arrived at our table pretty hastily. She asked us if we would be drinking and we said no, she asked us if we would like any sparkling or still water. We asked for still. TWENTY MINUTES later, absolutely no joke. I had already been paying attention to the clock after waiting for DOUBLE the time I was told to be sat. TWENTY minutes later Alexis comes and cracks open a bottle of water at our table. I ask her, for my own educational purposes, what would I have had to ask for to recieve the water everyone else had been receiving, just the standard, still water from the pitcher? She told us that if we wanted that water we would have asked for tap. I'd have to ask you for TAP WATER? Given the option of sparkling or still I was supposed to pick 1. An option not presented to me? And 2. At a fine dining establishment, ask for tap water like I'm eating at a Long John Silvers. How absolutely gauche.
Also Alexis "Do you not want to pay for it?" Is Probably not the best choice of words to handle that situation. Especially after I assured you it was clearly a misunderstanding. One that, I should add, came from not asking for TAP WATER(?!) ESPECIALLY When given the options of sparkling OR still.
FOURTY minutes after being sat. Again, I'm still watching the clock, FOURTY minutes after being sat Alexis comes back to ask us if we still want our sides that had still NOT been brought to the table. We decline at this point sans the bananas because at this stage into the meal what would be the point?
I do fully believe everyone has their off days, and everyone is entitled to their off days, but tonight seemed to be a well oiled machine of such genuine disfunction I'd reassess the standard of procedures, and guidelines with the staff, and Nicole as the Manager.
I have been to this location at least a dozen times. I'd sooner ask for tap water at a Long John Silver's than burn over $100 under that staff's...
