Free People — Local services in Woodmere

I don’t write a lot of reviews, but I feel like i need to. I live about 45 minutes away from this store, so I order online from here. I went in to return two online orders. This was my first time ever going into the store. I went in with my mom. We were not greeted. We approached the counter with my returns, and they claimed they could not accept one of my returns because it came without a tag. It is very hot out, so I was dressed in athletic clothes from from Lululemon, but they treated me like I was dirt. I feel like they acted like I wasn’t good enough for their store. because I wasn’t dressed to fit their aesthetic. I tried to show that I had the online order number and receipt and then they proceeded to tell me that I could have ordered my item from Nordstrom Rack. Out of no where, they bring up Nordstrom Rack? I don’t even know what that is if I’m being honest. They were suggesting that I seemed too poor for their products, and that I was trying to swindle them or something. I worked in retail for five years throughout college and I know how tough it can be. It would have been one thing if they had any sense of customer service at all and if they were nice, but they were rude, and they really made me feel embarrassed and terrible. I contacted their customer service line and can thankfully return it by mail, but I will never be going back to this store. Shameful.

Edit- customer service accepted my return online. I went online to Nordstrom Rack and figured out what that store is. They didn’t even sell the item I was returning. I am also seeing online, that there are women online that have has similar experiences to me at FP stores....

I drove about 45 min to get here! Thrilled because it’s the first time buying in person. Two girls working. Only 3 customers plus myself the entire time I was there. I was there as long as online. If you’re a FP fan you know you have to look at EVERYTHING and check prices and see what goes with what. One young lady had on a FP outfit however it wasn’t appropriate for her business wear. Every item I asked about “we don’t have it here”. I cannot say they were rude but I can say they are not greeters or personable. They are not welcoming. Training might help. Very rude staff. I went in to return a pair of pants that shrunk an insane amount the first time I washed them. I talked to their customer service line earlier that day to confirm I could return in store. They would not accept my return. The two girls working there, one of whom claimed to be the store manager, were both so rude. They seemed put out that I interrupted their personal conversation to have them do their jobs.
