I’m in Ohio for a business trip, I was originally booked at a nightmare hotel down the road. After two nights of hell in said hotel, I checked out of there and into Courtyard by Marriot. THANK GOD! I walked in the door and immediately felt at home. I was greeted quickly and enthusiastically by the front desk associate, Sarah and another employee, Annie who I later found out was the barista! They instantly made me feel welcome, appreciated, and safe. The front desk employee Sarah was an absolute delight, She swiftly checked me in, answered all of my questions, and kindly walked me to the elevator to get to my room. Within 15 mins I received a text from the front desk asking to confirm that everything was okay and let me tell you, it was. The room is spotless, clean, open, and in a great location. They offer laundry on site for a $1 a load, dreamy for work travelers like myself. There’s a Starbucks downstairs manned by Annie who is charming and ever so kind. I ran downstairs after checking in to grab some supplies which is incredibly convienant , they have everything from frozen meals & wine to Benadryl & Razors. You just can’t beat it. If your traveling to the area, you’ll see a couple of different hotels in this location but trust me, the Courtyard by Marriott Beachwood is the one you want to be at. There’s a pool & gym to top it off but at the end of the day and more importantly they have staff like Sarah & Annie who went above and beyond to make me...
Read moreThe experience that was most impressive for us was how the Marriott corporation handled a scheduling problem for us. We learned 2 days before our initial travel that we had the wrong date. We had reserved a Marriott hotel property using points. We needed to move the reservation ahead one week to make it to town for the new travel date. The original hotel was unable to move the reservation because it was reserved with points. They referred us to the Marriott Reward center for assistance. The Marriott Reward assistant was fabulous!!! She made all the changes we needed while I was on the phone. Those changes included moving us to another Marriott hotel property because the first hotel had no openings for the weekend of our new travel date and cancelling the reservation at the old location. Even though the process took almost a half an hour (computer issues) -- I appreciated the patience of the Marriott assistant who ensured that we could still use our points and for making sure that all the logistics were completed appropriately. She was an angel!!! Additionally, we were greeted cheerfully at the new Marriott hotel property. The Hotel was clean, the room was lovely, the staff pleasant, and our overall stay was definitely satisfactory. I like being able to count on the Marriott...
Read moreThis hotel was terrible. They lost power during our stay and had no backup or contingency plans for this situation. We weren’t communicated with or informed of anything other than when we went to the front desk and were told they were “working on it”. No phone calls, emails, or texts were sent out with any backup plans or walk letters to get us into another hotel for that day and night. We had to pack up our things in the dead of night when we assumed the property would have power back (it had been well over 15 hours at the point of our return to the property), where we were immediately demanded by a staff member to inform them of our room number and information and told to go collect our things from our rooms with a simple camping lantern in the cold and pitch black property. We were only provided a credit for one night even though the property was without power early in the morning after our first night (which we ended up paying for a room elsewhere to get ready for the day by showering and charging our devices). Never have I been to a property that was so unprepared and unorganized in the event of an emergency. Also as a side note, they have their pool permanently closed, which is not listed anywhere in their booking system. Overall terrible experience and will never stay at this...
