Salt Factory Pub gets my 150th review! Top 2 favorite Woodstock destinations. The best thing about Salt Factory is it is CONSISTENTLY excellent. You can tell by the amount of people who come here that this place is the place to be. Fully stocked bar with an outstanding bourbon selection. They have the nice round ice if you like it that way. I had the Colonel E H Taylor which is my current favorite. My wife had a Margarita Inc. Looked amazing, but it was incredibly sweet. Make sure you get salt to cut the sweetness. For appetizers we got the Spicy Salmon Crispy Rice and the Thai beef lettuce wraps. The salmon just looked the part for the price you pay and Ohhh is it worth it! So many textures! Perfect bites. The lettuce wraps were great as well but I probably would have gotten a double order of the salmon crispy rice. Was way too distracted by those! I continued my Asian flavors with the Hong Kong Style Salmon. I asked for medium rare salmon and it was executed perfectly. The miso broth with the sticky rice reminded me more of mashed potatoes. Again, incredible textures that kept me entertained. My wife enjoyed her dish, the Blood Orange Glazed salmon which actually had mashed potatoes. The salmon was a bit over cooked but the flavors were there. Finally we rounded out our meal with my wife's absolute favorite CrÚme Brûlée, and the have the BEST CrÚme Brûlée!! I love to see how happy she gets when this hits the table every time. Definitely order this if you have room for dessert!! Salt Factory is a locals' hot spot. Tons of opportunities for parties of 6 or more if you want to make it an event. Date nights, birthday celebrations, neighborhood get togethers. You can't beat this place and it will always be close to the top for me...
Read moreI have visited Salt numerous times and consistently had positive experiences; however, my recent visit on May 7, 2025, was disappointing. Our server, Jordan, was perhaps the rudest waitress I have ever encountered. We were a group of six, celebrating an early Motherâs Day and a birthday during lunch. Initially, she brought us water but quickly left without taking our drink orders. I had to flag her down to request drinks, which included two Cokes and a beer. At one point, a member of our group opted to order directly from the bar due to her apparent disinterest, even during a slow lunch shift.
When it was time to place our meal orders, we had a disabled individual in our group who requested her steak to be sliced. Jordan responded, âI wonât slice it.â When we asked if she could check with the kitchen about slicing it before serving, she replied, âIâll ask, but Iâm not sure they will, and I assure you I wonât.â Her attitude was dismissive, abrasive, and rude.
When the check arrived, it became clear why she behaved that way; gratuity was already included, which may have led her to believe she didnât need to provide good service to earn a tip. As a business owner myself, I would be appalled if any of my employees treated a guest in such a manner.
We did address the issue with the manager, who sincerely apologized for Jordanâs behavior and expressed embarrassment over her actions. She assured us that she would speak to the server, and I hope she follows through. Based on numerous reviews regarding customer service, it seems that additional training may be beneficial...
Read moreSalt WAS a favorite of ours. Every date night, every time we went up town, and every time we we had family in town, Salt was the destination. However, not anymore. We loved salt. Iâm so upset of what it has turned out to be. We went to Salt not that long ago and had horrible food. Since it was not what we were use to, we went back again tonight since my mother in law was in town, to have a nice dinner. The service was slow and our waitress didnât know the answers to any questions about the specials. I had one of their seasonal cocktails which the waitress assured me wasnât sweet which was super sweet and I couldnât drink it. I pushed it aside and I opted for a bottle of wine to share with the table, which I ordered before we ordered our entrees. Our entrees came out BEFORE the bottle of wine did! In the meantime, my mother in law went to the bar since it was taking so long to get a glass which she somehow was DRUGGED. (She only had a glass and a half and couldnât even stand afterwards which is completely abnormal to say the lease!) my husband and I had the special NY Strip steak which we ordered rare. My husbands was medium rare and mine was medium well. We didnât even eat it. We had a $352 bill which on top of it all, the waitress added gratuity!!! Left Salt with actually great appetizers (calamari and mussels) but not eating entrees, left half a bottle of wine since it came out so late, and a second bad experience in the last month. Very disappointed!! Stay away until they figure out how to go back to the way they use to be or...
