Gee, lots of folks are going to call me crazy, but our party of 4 was very disappointed. Services was good, the front greeter, she was lovey , waiter was good but not excellent, believe it or not made to may suggestions, steered us away from what we originally wanted to order, which isn't their fault ultimately it was our decision on our food selection. The Crispy Mustard Spätzle we would give 5 stars out of 5, the cauliflower (which we wanted the Brussel sprouts originally but at their suggested we switched) was not a favorite by any at the table, it was missing something, maybe a richness in the sauce, 1 star. Caesar Salad was a 5, Seaford risotto would make my Italian grandmother roll over in her grave. First is wasn't creamy as all great risottos should be, it was also the consistence of a medium to thick soup, 2 out of the 4 order, again at the suggestion of the wait staff, both were disappointed, we are still looking for the shrimp and squid, only found 1 mussel in both orders, and the celery root just didn't cut it. Pork belly app, this is a 1 at best, it was originally descripted to us a a "pork belly prosciutto", couldn't have been further from the truth, it is at best luke warm slices of bacon, not cured as prosciutto is, very disappointed by all of us, certainly not worth the 20 for the order, 0 stars . Finally the Pork Belly Plate, we expected this to be rich, luscious and crispy , it instead was 4 slices of pork belly, crispy on the top only, the other 3 slices were again like warm piece of thick bacon, had the other sides been somewhat on the crispy side it would have been a 10
Maybe it was a off night, we had no objection to the 20% gratuity, we believe kitchen staff should pooled into tip, but only when you walk away saying to yourself "I can't wait to go back". In this case I am not sure we will try this restaurant again. I need to add we did not mention our disappointment to the waiter, we were with friends we hadn't seeing for a very long time, the dinner was more about catching up, and not complaining about the experience. In hind sight we regret not saying something.
Cocktails were amazing, would consider going back 1 more time, for a beverage and the burger (yes the burger, we heard people raving about it)
So disappointed, we read all the reviews for weeks, we were so looking forward to a 5 star experience, instead it was 2 at best. Maybe the kitchen had a off night, this was diffidently an off night.
PS. For those of us that choose not to drink and drive, it would help if a selection of Non Alcoholic beer was available. We were told you had Heineken, but then told it was...
Read moreThe food and service here were both excellent (huge shoutout to our server Willie for taking amazing care of us!), but the wait time was way too long. Our reservation was at 5:30 and we had a show at 7:00, and we didn’t get our food until 6:30. The restaurant was clearly not prepared for the level of people coming in.
For the food, the caesar salad was tasty—great size and good croutons. For our entrees, I would easily order any of them again. The risotto, burger, and scallops (listed in order of preference) were all delicious. I loved the apple in the risotto and that goat cheese was to die for. The burger was perfectly cooked with great pickles. The scallops went well with the grapefruit (love that combo!).
For the service, Willie checked in on us and gave us updates on how our food was coming. He felt bad for the wait and not only brought us additional fries, but also brought over some mango sorbet, which might have been my favorite of the 3 desserts (chocolate chip cookies were soft and warm by the way, and while I didn’t love the chocolate cake, the homemade whipped cream was very good). We were very appreciative of the info he gave us about dessert, so we were still able to order some and make the show on time.
For the atmosphere, it was definitely loud and after an hour, it got very warm (part of the reason the mango sorbet was so refreshing!). Tables and chairs were comfortable enough (the plate the burger came on was a bit small though).
Overall, the experience was a 4/5 because of the wait times, the noise, and the atmosphere, but the food and service were both clearly the highlights and would be the reason to bring me back… just maybe not...
Read moreOverall the experience was disappointing. Our lunch started off on the right foot, good beer and fantastic drinks but that's where things took a turn despite being one of three tables in the place. I ordered the meatloaf, which while the sliver of meatloaf was good, the potatoes lacked any sort of seasoning, garlic, rosemary, in the least they could have been salted a little. The Cesar salad was good but I'm not sure it was worth a $12 plate. My fiancee ordered the falafal sandwich which sounded good on paper. The sandwich came out and the chips and pickle were very good but again, the falafal wasn't seasoned, at all. There was a lot of tzatziki sauce on the sandwich as well. Needless to say my fiancee didn't eat more than a couple bites. The waitress never came back to ask us how everything was even when I was halfway through my meal when she dropped off the check and ran before anything could be said. When she came back a little while later to ask about drinks we ordered another round while my fiancee tried to pick apart the sandwich to find something she liked and the waitress never asked about our food. Finally we pay and the waitress asks us if we want to wrap it up, which both of us replied no. Still no question as to why both of us didn't want a sandwich with only three bites taken out of it. I know we should have called her over and complained ourselves but on the other hand it would have been nice to be asked if our food was okay at some point during our lunch. I would like to give dinner a try in the future but I know if I do, it will be without...
