Another one bites the dust, not worth the time or money thrown away with how you're treated at The Palladium. A modicum of human decency would be appreciated, if I'm polite, no need to be a complete jerk.
Even if you're on the headliners/record label guest list or have a working pass/photo pass, you will be treated like trash.
Photo pass? "No Cameras there toughie!"
"Dude, my pass says PHOTO on it." More than once they've just grabbed the camera.... I don't know if the overly aggressive blond girl is still there, but jeezus, doesn't even give you a "Can I see your credentials?" or a simple "Gotta bring it back to the car"....grabbed like it was hers.
As with the others, they act like YOUR property is THEIRS, even your damn belt buckle isn't safe. I've seen them literally pocket packs of smokes (and/or crush them), that's theft. If someone doesn't have a means to light up or just DOESN'T light up inside, there's no issue.
Security is over compensating for SOMETHING, especially female staff.
Several times I've had my groin grabbed HARD by them, to the point where one got hit. Shouldn't have grabbed my genitals in the first place, let alone that hard, creeps.
They've gone as far as grabbing my insulin & glucometer out of my hand, trying to say if I want it back, no entry. Somehow what keeps me alive is a weapon & I can't be trusted despite being 20 years older than these goofballs.
Same with my heart medication, you know, the medicine preventing another heart attack.
"You don't need those that often, you're not bringing 'DRUGS' in"
Yes, because your security are all cardiologists/endocrinologists & are fully versed in my medical needs.
When I still walked with a cane, SURPRISE! They tossed it in the corner & I needed assistance walking all night.
I explained this is in CLEAR VIOLATION of the ADA (there are both federal & state laws on the treatment of the disabled & their medication), they didn't even know what that or Type 1 diabetes was, nor the severity of the implications when insulin is denied....do you not train your thugs or must they be sub-80 IQ?
Have you checked the price of insulin lately? Thankfully the vial didn't break or that would be almost $600.
I'm just not going to this joke of a venue ever again. I've been a patron since the late 90s & enough is enough.
If the TSA-like brainlets can't even show the slightest bit of respect towards me as a paying customer or as a personal GUEST OF THE HEADLINERS/LABELS/PROMOTERS, why bother?
It takes me over an hour just to get there only to be treated like garbage. Welp, no more.
My dignity & health aren't worth sacrificing for a filthy venue, I'll just...
Read moreAttended last's night Flogging Molly show, first time at the Palladium in a while. Having worked in the music industry for a decade and attending concerts for several decades of my life I have to give an A+ to them. When you attend a concert in Boston you are often treated like garbage from security to bartending services. This was not the case at the Palladium, every single employee I interacted with was top quality, respectful, and treated me with the kind of hospitality that is absent from nearly every venue I have been to. I had a question about upgrading my seat, I was immediately directed to the lobby, in the lobby another employee walked me to the "no-rentry" doors and let security know I was good to come back in as I was going to the box-office to upgrade my seat. When I came back through security that same employee was waiting and waived me through + let the ticket check team know I was all set to pass through and not wait in the line again. When we got up to our section, the person checking tickets up there noticed our seats were far away from where we entered, instead of just saying GO OVER THERE. He walked us over to the seats. In stark contrast to a recent experience at TD GARDEN BOSTON, where the ticket personal directed me to the wrong seat then 5 minutes later came over when someone else had our seats and said "you should know your seats." In a rude voice when in fact she just directed us to the wrong seats. The point is, these small actions don't go unnoticed by many patrons and the Palladium staff did a phenomenal job.... In addition this was a Flogging Molly show so there was rowdy dancing and crowd surfing, the security team on the floor did a masterful job of safetly and gently securing crowd surfers and bringing them back down to the floor and allowing them to resume dancing after. There was no grabbing legs and yanking them, or pulling them off aggressively, everything was done with care for safety. I am truly blown away, if every venue operated this way, concerts would be so much more enjoyable. Needless to say I will be frequenting the Paladium for shows much more often. Cheers to the whole...
