The food is really good, but the customer service is terrible. I’ve been to crust 3 times and I’ve never had a great experience with customer service, but today really pushed me over the edge. I went to pick-up, as the inside of the store is closed. I went to pick up and it took 5 minutes for someone to recognize that I was there to get my order. The young man doing orders (during quarantine) didn’t give me straws for my drinks so I asked for some. He tossed them at me (kind of understandable, because social distancing). Then I got in the car, and realized my order was all wrong. I went back, and it took another 5 minutes for them to come over to me, and the woman next to me also was back to get her order fixed. I told the same worker that my order was wrong and he told me it wasn’t, even though I was physically showing him what I ordered vs. what I rechecked. He didn’t know the menu too well, clearly. I also told him my coffee was wrong, which he made. He told me I ordered caramel, and I had to show him that I ordered vanilla. He then remade it, terribly. A giant pump of syrup, and some coffee poured over it, not mixed. He also gave me a straw that was too short, so I couldn’t even mix the coffee. It was overflowing so much, it spilt all over me and I have to pour it out in the highway. This was all work a car ride, so I couldn’t even run home and mix the coffee / get...
Read moreThe products are outstanding but the handling of orders leaves so much to be desired. If you don't know , right now you can ONLY order online. The website doesn't make it clear. The website should have up to date specific instructions. As it is, it looks as if you CAN order online and it also seems as if you can go to their shop and order. You cannot. Second, you have to pay for items you have no idea if they still have them. And they won't refund you. WTH? Who does business that way? Maybe it's the toast app, which stinks. But Why should I pay for an order I am not getting and no receipt or proof that I will get it? And while the baked goods are terrific, and you can find them in many small shops in the area, thankfully, I spent a healthy amount for an iced latte, asked for 1 sugar and they use GRANULATED sugar. I mean, if they don't know how to make cold drinks at this point, why bother. I can spend much less at dunkin and get a latterwith liquid sugar and it's actually much tastier- this didn't have enough espresso to...
Read moreGrowing up in the birth state of Johnny Appleseed, I’ve made an effort to try as many apple cider donuts as I can. Crust is the clear and delicious winner for best said donut. I first encountered this masterpiece at Lost Shoe brewing. I thought perhaps my admiration for the donut was enhanced by the accompanying libations, so I chose to try again by traveling 40 minutes to their Worcester shop. While it’s fun to watch a dough ball bob in oil and emerge a hot greasy sugar crusted cider donut at your local orchard, the cinnamon and apple taste are lost and secondary to the smell and heat on a crisp fall day. The Crust apple cider donut is all about the taste and texture. They are moist inside with clear cider and cinnamon tastes, with a perfect dry, sugary, and crusty outer shell. They are perfection. The other pastries were also great but my focus was the cider donut...
