As a seventy-two-year-old full-time travel writer, I regularly use McDonald's phone application for quick and efficient location assistance and budget-friendly dining. Not only does the app save me a lot of time and money everywhere I go, I see firsthand the differences good management or even one good employee can make in a business where consistentcy of services is of primary importance.
Of course, consistentcy is a hard-won objective and is highly dependent on the staff performance. Indeed, it's personnel like Georgette Isaac who make the McDonald's chain and franchises successful.
Employed by McDonald's store #2 on 16th Street in Yuma, Arizona, a specific location I've frequented during the winter for many years, Georgette is present most mornings. Always smiling, always with direct eye contact, and always helpful. She is one of the finest McDonald's representatives I've ever observed.
I asked Georgette if I could recognize her contributions in my Google review. She was happy to pose for a picture and insisted on sharing a little about her relationship, gratitude, and loyalty toward McDonald's management.
Georgette had endured more than her share of life challenges, when two years ago, she presented to Yuma store 2 shortly after rehabbing from what she referred to as "a crazy sixteen years of substance abuse." Store manager, "Vanessa Ricardo decided to give me a chance."
Based on personal observation, It is the opinion of this writer that management made a wise decision hiring Georgette. Employees like her are the main reason I am a loyal...

Steak at McDonalds.......let me try that!" .....yeah......no...like I said ...next time.....Burger King ...or hell....even Sam's Club for a slice of pizza or a hot dog ...for that matter.....SUPER...
Read moreI will admit, the food was typical for the diner. I was put off by the fact that after standing at the register for several minutes with no one ahead of me, when I asked if I HAD to order from the kiosk or simply at the register, the person walked away as if I was invisible. Several minutes later, after "figuring" out the kiosk, I "thought" I had placed my order. At that time, I was finally greeted at the counter and 'asked' if I wanted to order. I told them I had, "at the kiosk". They stated that there wasnt any ordersnun the 'queue'. Ironically, it took them a minute, but they finally found my order. When I then described to them the specifics of my order were unable to be entered, I verbalized them. When my food finally came, the condiment omissions were NOT followed. When I voiced my disdain for having to use the "less than desirable" kiosk (due to previous experiences), the comment I received was "they were understaffed." I completely understand the turmoil that occurs when people don't show up for work/or on-time (I spent 22 years in the military); but at least,'talk' to the customers that are there. Just don't seemingly ignore them. Especially when there was no one else in the lobby...
