Zeugma kunefe — Restaurant in Tashkent

I recently visited Kebap Ketmir in Tashkent, and overall, it was a decent experience with a few highs and lows. Starting with the food, the lahmajin was absolutely delicious – probably the highlight of my meal. The kebab was also quite good, though the meat dish was just okay, nothing particularly special. For drinks, I had iced tea, but it was overly sweet for my taste, and unfortunately, the bread that accompanied the meal was served cold, which was a bit disappointing.

One major downside was the language barrier. Despite being in a city frequented by tourists, none of the staff seemed to understand English, making communication difficult. This was a bit frustrating as English is widely considered a universal language, and it hindered the experience.

The cooking is done indoors, and the lack of proper ventilation means that the smell of food clings to you like a shadow, guaranteed to follow you out the door. It's a shame because it detracts from an otherwise enjoyable dining experience.

Me and a friend popped here for a quick lunch before our cab to the airport. Had the chicken kebab (can not remeber the name of the dish in uzbeck). Was on the bottom right of a page. Was chicken thighs with a but of pitta and fresh onion. Chicken was cooked well but not much flavour. We were given a bread with 5 sauces for free which was nice and service was ok.
