First and foremost, thank you for your prompt response. During my recent visit to your restaurant, I was accompanied by four individuals, including two females (myself included) and three males. Considering the presence of CCTV cameras in your establishment, I kindly request you to review the footage. I am the individual who lodged a complaint regarding the presence of an insect in my mojito, although we did order approximately 8-9 other items from your menu.
Allow me to clarify that as adults, we possess the ability to discern between insects and lemon seeds, as the mojito contains lemons and mint leaves. It is possible that one of your staff members, perhaps due to inebriation, overlooked the presence of a lemon seed. However, your response leads me to question the level of professionalism and customer service they are being taught. I would like to bring to your attention that we were charged for the items we did not consume.
Rather than instructing your staff on proper customer treatment, it is disconcerting to observe that you referred to your patrons as "cheap" and advised against their travels. Similarly, I would like to extend the same suggestion to you; prioritize enhancing your communication skills before further engaging in the hospitality industry. Furthermore, I find it puzzling that you denied any knowledge of the belongings we left behind when we returned the following day. How can you assure the safety of such items if your staff claims they were not left behind? I personally witnessed the insect in my drink and insisted on examining the glass itself. However, the staff member presented two steel bowls and proceeded to separate the water and other components, which did not provide conclusive evidence of the insect's absence. Due to its small size, it could easily have become mixed with the contents, potentially originating from the mint leaves.
Regrettably, the situation escalated when the staff member became agitated and began shouting, resorting to derogatory comments, including referring to me as "cheap." I am uncertain as to the extent of your staff's inappropriate behavior and the threats made towards the females in our group. I find it alarming that they have not exceeded the boundaries of their misconduct, considering the behavior displayed thus far.
In light of these circumstances, I expect the owner of the establishment to exercise mindfulness and thoroughly investigate the entire situation before making decisions on resolving this issue. It appears that my initial expectations were set higher than the actual standards upheld by the owner. The unprofessional conduct of your inebriated staff members, who happened to be of Indian origin, has been disrespectful and intimidating, particularly towards the female members of our group. I question the severity of their actions and ponder whether they are capable of even more deplorable behavior.
Please provide a detailed response addressing the concerns I have raised, as I am eager to understand how you plan to rectify this matter and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. Let me know as well how you are going to compensate for the toy car since you’re staff mentioned they don’t have the car and you mentioned it’s kept safely in your restaurant, that much safe that your staff could not return it to there owner.. and I am sure you are not cheap as you say about your customer…you will find a way to return it..and yeah we were tourists and cane back to...
Read moreI will confess for the record that I wasn't expecting succulent Indian here in Danang, where I've recently moved. I was hoping for and would have accepted merely passable Indian after living in Bangkok for the last 12 years.
I was very, very pleasantly surprised with an incredibly diverse menu of South Indian dosas, a few South Indian curries, tandoor dishes, and North Indian favorites.
The paneer tikka appetizer was superb, spiced to perfection. Very, very firm paneer, homemade by the restaurant, just the way I love it. I was informed later by the owner that Indians find that texture a bit on the firm side. I don't and I would not think most Westerners would either.
My wife devoured the masala dosas with its accompanying chutneys but I managed to eat a third of it and was not disappointed. I was afraid I'd be undergoing dosa withdrawal in Danang. Not now.
The vegetable chettinad was a first-time try, because I really wanted to take advantage of their South Indian menu. It is rare, indeed, you'll see a range of South Indian and North Indian curries on the same menu. Chettinad cuisine hails from a region in the Indian southern state of Tamil Nadu, and though I've been there, that visit was more than two decades ago. I've not had the opportunity since to walk in at my leisure to Indian restaurants that specialize in such cuisine. A chettinad curry makes use of dried red chillies, cumin, turmeric, chilli powder, and a chettinad masala. My wife wanted it on the medium side (whereas I would have preferred it spicy), but the dish of mixed vegetables and a little paneer still had enough kick. We sacrilegiously but deliciously combined that curry with some North Indian naan bread.
The price for this feast was very acceptable. Would I go back? Is...
Read moreUpdate, Dec 2033.
I used to love this restaurant ever since it opened. It is now openly contemptuous and racist to non-Indian patrons.
The food is now average at best and totally lacks flavour and kick. Neither the manager nor the waiter could be bothered addressing my complaint that the food was tasteless. The waiter warmed it up - end of story. Regrettably, I will not be back.
If you're not Indian, you may wish to think twice before visiting. If you are Indian, the place is pretty good if you like bland food and racist company.
Because there are many Indians holidaying in Da Nang now, the Indian restaurants do not want non-Indian customers. Your wish is my command, Adieu.
Previous update - Truly fabulous restaurant that cannot be faulted on its food. Now let's discuss the Indian diners... I accept that cultures are different and I've been to India several times. The problem here, and it's an enormous problem, is that the Indian diners and staff are out of control. Shocking manners, ridiculously loud and violent when intoxicated. I will only ever return for lunch. You've completely lost control of the behaviour in your restaurant. This...
