Came here after seeing all the reviews and many westerners telling me it was the best chicken and rice place in Da Nang, after having been here I am convinced that these people have never even ventured outside of An Thuong area for any food. The chicken and rice dish I ordered was 95 k which for that price you can order 3 plates of chicken and rice from a local vendor. They did however give me a simple salad as a starter and it was pleasant. The chicken and rice came and the chicken skin was very crispy and a pretty decent sized portion, however it lacked flavor and just tasted of cooking oil. There was a lime pepper dipping sauce that came along with it, which was alright. They had a sign on the wall that if you had 10k instagram followers and you made a post featuring them, your meal was free. So maybe the hype is inauthentic; just like the chicken. If you have 10k followers eat here, if you don't eat at one of the many other chicken rice places in Da Nang, your taste buds and wallet will be more...
Read moreI'm staying nearby and found this restaurant through a search for 'best pho in Da Nang'. Well, that's a big title to live up to and unfortunately it falls short. It's certainly OK pho but I've had better, much better only not near the seafront but in town. If you're there look up Pho 75 and give it a go.
I went for the combo meal of fried pork rolls, chicken pho and a drink - 135k dong which is on the expensive side but you've got to make allowance for the location I guess. The pho was a good helping and the soup was nicely balanced with hints of lemongrass but the noodles were a little soft. I had to ask for extra chillis and no beansprouts or fresh herbs were served as a garnish, much to my disappointment. When I asked why I was told they only serve them with their beef pho. That seems...

If, like me, you are a little lazy or unsure or intimidated about ordering Vietnamese food, and often end up opting for western food instead, this place makes it easy to work out, in friendly, air-conditioned environment, which Vietnamese meals you like.
The owner, Thomas, speaks perfect English and is happy to give advice. I had beef pho in a set with spring rolls and, on Thomas' recommendation, a Huda beer (see photo).
The total cost was 132,000 dong, around €5. On their own, all the pho dishes are 88,000, around €3.40. There was plenty of beef and it was of good quality. There was a sign saying they only use Australian beef. I really enjoyed my meal and left feeling satisfied.
On the day I visited, their card machine was broken, so, remember...
