When in Hanoi this bakery / patisserie is definitively worth a visit. Located between two cafes (where you can get the coffee to your pastries) is sells fantastic looking tartlets, cakes and savory pastry. We tested the sweet ones and all of them were really good. The caramel cream with the gold leaf on top, the red one with a mini macaron and the filling and the fruity one (which came with quite a rich amount of sweet shortcrust pastry). This bakery was worth the walk from the old quarter every time! It has a great selection of baked goods and everything we had was delicious. The most outstanding item for us was the coconut macaroons. OMG,OMG,OMG. If you are a coconut lover do whatever you have to do to go here and try them! They are the best we have ever had! Real coconut not too sweet and I think they may fry them?? Whatever they do they are the most moist, tasty and fresh macaroons ever! Not too sweet like the North American version. Bought moon cake from here - some boxes have really nice designs. But as soon as I asked if I could pay using a foreign card their attitude turned south. First they put the paper in the payment device the wrong way so it printed out blank, they kept asking to see my payment history if I was debited. They also kept repeating that they'll need to pay fees to the bank for it, implying I should compensate. They then asked to test another payment to see if the bill can be printed out properly, but was reluctant to return the money after that - by still implying I should compensate them for bank fees.
