You know what’s awesome on a cold, windy night? Some sizzle-sizzle grilling on an open flame 🔥 — yup, seated outdoors, just enjoying & taking in the atmosphere. ❤️💓 There’s something so happy about seeing people around you tucking so heartily into their meal, whilst the aromas of fish & dill being grilled fill the air. 😍❤️💓
I’ve been dying for some Cha Ca Lang, which is grilled Hemibagrus Fish in a silver pan/pot, so when I chanced upon this roadside eatery near our hotel, I was overjoyed. The hotel concierge staff wasn’t super convinced this was yummy but I was adamant about enjoying this seated on low stools & tables 😆 If you scroll left, you’ll see videos of the place with even a train running by in the background 😍👍❤️ How’s that for authentic & enjoying a meal as the locals do??
It was incredibly affordable (scroll to extreme left for menu). We went for Combo 1 for 2 pax; I wanted Combo 2 but the lady boss was like, “No no, that’s for 3 people” 😆 I should’ve listened to my gut — Combo 1 was not sufficient for two of us 😅😆
Side note: I never knew I would love fish guts so much. 😍❤️👍 They were chewy & flavourful. Ja’dore! 👌💓
Would I recommend this place to friends? 💯 percent yes. Btw to cook your meal, pour in the dill & veg first, and stir. Let it cook for a min, then pour in the fish. Voila! It’s...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic Vietnamese restaurant, and it was an experience to remember! The food was absolutely delicious each dish bursting with authentic flavors that were both yummy and satisfying. The menu offers an impressive range of options, blending traditional Vietnamese cuisine with a touch of fusion that adds an exciting twist.
Not only is the food fresh, but it's also incredibly affordable, making it a great spot for both casual dinners and special occasions. From savory pho to crispy spring rolls, the varieties available ensure there’s something for everyone.
What really sets this place apart is its selection of desserts and beverages. The desserts are just as delicious as the main courses, with options like traditional Vietnamese chè and sweet, refreshing fruit-based treats. The drink menu is equally impressive, offering everything from rich Vietnamese coffee to refreshing iced teas and unique fusion beverages that perfectly complement the meal.

WARNING ❌ WARNING ❌ This is a hacked check-in point. The original MICHELIN rated one is 2D DUONG THANH - the restaurant I ate at before with good quality service. As for Cha Ca Thang Long at 17 Cha Ca, I had an extremely bad experience from the beginning, the fish showed signs of having been used before when it was brought up and was burnt, there were also vegetables cooked with it. This is completely different from the way of eating cha ca in the North. I am really worried that if tourists (unlucky) experience traditional food at this restaurant for the first time, they will have a bad impression of the delicious food of Hanoi people, especially the price is higher than other restaurants but the service is bad. I immediately left the restaurant because I knew I was wrong when "checking in google map", I did not dare to eat because I saw signs that the food served to me had been "used". I asked the owner and he seemed to "lie" and explained that the dish was cooked before for me. I have eaten this fish cake many times so I know that this is not a convincing answer because even though the fish is pre-processed, it cannot have the dry burnt marks as in the picture. I left immediately, luckily I found the original restaurant a few steps away. Everyone please rate and share to warn everyone. The good reviews of "Cha Ca Thang Long" have had their names and locations hacked and I hope the market management agency will soon get involved with this dishonest restaurant. ⛔️ THE 5-star REVIEWS and beautiful pictures you see at the location are due to tourists who mistakenly checked in to the restaurant with a beautiful space as Cha Ca La Vong on DUONG THANH street. This restaurant has a much worse space. And they are...
