We visited Sadhu in November 2023 based on recommendation from my brothers friend for a wonderful vegetarian restaurant to dine at. Since he highly recommended it, I made a dinner reservation even before I left for our Vietnam vacation. I was not sure what to expect but all I can say is WOW! The food, the service and the ambiance was just amazing and overall value was excellent. The best thing it is a buffet restaurant one price for all you can eat but the difference being you choose the items you want to eat and they will bring it to your table. You can eat as many items as you want , including dessert. Come here on an empty stomach if you want to sample amazing dishes that are presented Michelin style. Even better come as a group if you want to sample more dishes. There are 100+ items to choose from that includes salads, soups, appetizers/starters, main entree and desserts. I am so glad we came here on the last day of our Vietnam trip and this place will always be remembered ! I don't believe I have ever had such an excellent meal at the price it cost me - about US$13 per person. Best part they are all vegetarian or vegan. Food - We had a difficult time to select what we wanted to eat from the large variety/selection of items. The menu was like a book where all the dishes were colorfully described with amazing pictures to go with each item. Since it was only me and my wife , we decided to order some familiar and some unfamiliar items. We ordered Young Coconut Soup, Papaya salad, Flower salad, Spring Rolls, Sushi , Pho, Pizza with squash, and for dessert Coconut Ice cream and Watermelon. The portions are small but that is ideal as you can sample more items. Every item was delectable and the presentation was out of this world! Probably the best coconut ice cream I have ever had. Service - for a buffet place we thought service may be average but their service is like at a sit down upscale restaurant. Everyone from the time you enter the restaurant to when you leave was very humble, friendly and seemed like their service ethos was to ensure you had an enjoyable meal. The wait staff patiently explained all the items we had questions on were knowledgeable as to what was in each dish. They did not hurry you at all even though restaurant was at capacity and the restaurant is pretty large. Their service was truly exceptional . everyone we noticed at the restaurant were enjoying their meal Ambiance - This place is pretty big but the ambiance is so elegant yet simple. Throughout the time we were there they had some chanting in the background. everything from the decor to choice of tables, colors, cutlery, plates and menu exhibited elegance . Tables are also well spaced out. You have to visit to understand and appreciate/marvel the ambiance Overall - All I can say is you have to experience Sadhu and you will understand what a truly special meal is. Although this is all vegetarian I truly believe non-vegetarians will also love it. The table next to us were from Peru and they were not 100% vegetarians but they truly enjoyed the meal. Thank you to entire staff of this restaurant for ensuring we leave Hanoi with special memories. This is a restaurant I mention to all my friends and say if they go to Hanoi, they have to visit Sadhu. As vegetarians , Vietnam has been great for us to dine at because each and every place we have been to has been unique in its vegetarian/vegan offerings and truly exceptional. Sadhu is our best in Hanoi

I'll be honest, I don't really like to leave bad reviews for vegetarian places because I'm vegan and I want these businesses to do well. We started out with a Vietnamese speaking waiter but switched to an English one so that my friend didn't have to translate. The waiter knew I was vegan and warned me when I ordered something that couldn't come vegan. The waiter didn't care to ask my friend if she was vegan or not. We ended up getting our dishes where half of it was the vegan version (w/o the sauces basically) and the other half was not vegan. It was mostly okay but it was just a hassle, they should have just served everything vegan because my friend wouldn't mind and it's a Vietnamese restaurant so it's common to share food. At the very least they could ask. One of the dishes that I ordered came completely not vegan, so we had to wait for them to make it again because I ordered it and my friend wasn't interested in the dish. Even though I tried my best WITH a Vietnamese speaker, I still ended up sick for most of the next day. So yeah I paid 300k to have moderately tasty food and get food poisoning. The environment of the restaurant is great, the walls and furniture look cool. It's great to see that they have so much business because we almost couldn't get a table, but it's so understaffed that it was so hard to get a waiter in order for us to pay for our meal. It was a nice experience because I've heard a lot about the restaurant before from friends, but now I know never to come here again. Also as a Pad Thai enthusiast, don't order the Pad Thai. We got the buffet deal so we could order whatever we wanted, but it's literally not worth the space it takes up on your table.

I went here for dinner at 8pm. If you come during this time, your experience may be shortened because they take last order at 8:45 (you can still eat until they close at 10pm). The food was quite delicious and varied, however, I will take away 1 star because of the service of the staff. They were attentive and were not rude, but they were not welcoming. I can understand that they were tired after a long day, but I would feel more comfortable if the staff smiled and advised on the dishes and appropriate quantities. Since this was my first time coming to the restaurant. In addition, the restaurant should provide basic training for the staff. I ordered a glass of warm water and the staff brought a bottle of hot water. I understand that they do not serve still water and only serve bottled water. But isn't the common knowledge that putting hot water in a plastic bottle affects health, something everyone should know when working in a restaurant or even in daily life? when I told them to pour hot water into a cup, they only poured it into 1 cup and the rest of the hot water they kept in the bottle and closed the lid, to the point that the plastic bottle had shrunk because of the hot water. They could have completely divided it into 2 cups if the first cup was full! For a proper restaurant, I was quite disappointed when the staff made this basic mistake. This does not stop me from wanting to come to the restaurant next time. But I hope the restaurant manager reads this feedback and will train the staff more thoroughly.

Very nice vegetarian restaurant from the same owner of uu dam chay with variety of food. ## interior : 4 / 5 -> Interior in indoor is nice and authentic atmosphere with budism and vegetarian. But, unfortunately I sat outside, terrace seat. It was right next to dish washing area. And there was no partition to separate working place and dining place. ## taste : 5 / 5 -> I have been a big fan of uu dam chay for long time. As introduction from uu dam chay manager, Sadhu is under uu dam chay branch. The taste was close to uu dam chay. I could enjoy variety of vegetarian food with reasonable price. ## menu : 5 / 5 -> In menu, there are more than 60 dishes with various sections like rice, fried, soup, noodle... more comment isn’t needed. Perfect!! ## price : 5 / 5 -> uu dam chay is reasonable price. But Sadhu is beyond it. ## service : 4 / 5 -> because it was very crowed, staffs respons was a bit slower. But, compared to the other restaurant in hanoi, staffs were very well trained. Even crowed and many orders from many tables, they didnt make mistake for my order. ####. Total : 4.3 / 5 Comment : Sadhu is aways very crowed. It is better to book in advance.

🔎 for more food reviews & travel tips, check out lagwenbrulee on insta ✨️ all you can eat vegetarian & vegan restaurant for only 286k per person! the dishes were all very dainty and detail oriented, and the menu had a lot of variety. the food was very colourful and super tasty, each dish felt unique. It was really fun to eat and try out everything that they had to offer. The dishes are mainly inspired by central vietnamese flavours, but they also took some western dishes, such as pizza and pasta, or japanese, like sushi, and gave it their own vegetarian friendly vietnamese twist. service is okay, but can be improved, slow during peak hours and they missed items we ordered. overall, i think it was a really nice experience, the interior design is elegant, and the food was more than satisfactory - if you want to try central vietnamese food in hanoi but fancier, and you are vegetarian or you don't mind vegetarian food, i think this is a great restaurant to add to your list!

We really enjoyed the concept and this is one of the best vegeterian restaurants we have visited in Vietnam. You receive a menu with pictures and detailed description of about 30+ different dishes( starters, soups, salads, main dishes, 2-3 different types of desserts) and you pick the ones that you want at your own pace( their servings are small, so that you get to try different dishes). Their buffet is 258k VND per person, and their drinks are not included. They cost are around 68k-75k each including water. For being a buffet, the presentation of the dishes is very high quality and come with fragant dips/sauces. Some of the dishes taste really good, some of them are ok, and a lot of them taste sweet. Customer service is great. They came to our table as soon as we finished eating and asked us what other dishes we wanted. They speak good English and the ambiance is very pleasant, clean and modern. They also accept reservations because it can get very busy.
