🌟 Hidden Gem in Hanoi: Bánh Cuốn & Phở Bò Stall 🌟
Tucked away from the tourist-heavy streets, this humble stall is an underrated treasure that deserves way more recognition. Not only do they serve some of the most authentic Hanoi dishes we’ve tasted, but they also practise something truly heartwarming: “pay it forward.” Here, you can pre-pay a meal for someone less fortunate, ensuring that good food and kindness are shared alike.
🍲 Phở Bò We’ve tried countless bowls of phở across Hanoi, but this one stands out. The broth is rich yet clean, deeply aromatic with star anise and cinnamon, and the beef is tender to perfection. It’s the kind of phở that reminds you why Hanoi is the birthplace of this iconic dish. My girlfriend and I are notoriously picky eaters, and we both agreed — this phở deserves a star.
🥢 Bánh Cuốn Nóng Delicate rice rolls filled with pork and wood ear mushroom, topped with crispy shallots, and paired with light yet flavorful dipping sauce. Freshly made to order, the silky texture alone is worth the trip.
✨ Verdict: This stall is more than just a place to eat; it’s a place where food, authenticity, and compassion come together. A true Hanoi experience that deserves to be...

Service was prompt and the Banh Cuon and condiments were served around 5 minutes later I ordered. It was delicious and I didn't regret my decision at all. A definite must try if you're in the area. The portion size isn't huge, which isn't a bad thing for the price (35,000VND), and it certainly isn't a bad thing if there's loads of food on your must eat list. I still had space for the Bun Rieu...
Read moreLast night before saying goodbye to Ha Noi, I had a most warming experience from the stomach to the heart. I stumbled upon this food stall and had a Steamed Rice Roll (Bánh Cuốn or Bánh Ướt), and it was yummy. Then, I noticed a the “Suspended Pho- Phở Treo” promotion sign posted on the store’s front. It was a charitable plan operated by the food stall. The plan was that the customers would buy a bowl of Phở costing 50,000 VND for the disadvantaged and poor individuals. By now 33 bowls of Pho have been sold (the 33rd one was bought by me) It was such a meaningful act from the owners. If you visit Ha Noi, please come and give your love to those...
