We visited this place because it was rated 5-stars on Google Maps. However, on our 1st visit, we were quite disappointed with the food. We ordered their signature chicken rice and chicken noodle.
Chicken Rice - the rice tasted a bit sweet, but that's ok as it can be due to the local taste, as Vietnamese tends to like sweet. What we can't accept is the texture of the rice - rough and mushy. As for the chicken, it's tough, not smooth, and lacks aroma. For chicken rice, this is a No No for any type of chicken rice.
Chicken Noodle - Again, the chicken is a disappointment. Tough, not smooth and dry, despite it in the soup. The noodle texture could be better, as we are in Vietnam, and rice noodle quality is no excuse.
With the above 2 signature dishes failed, we were puzzled by the rating. In order not to give a wrong review, we gave this shop a 2nd chance. This time, we did not order their signature, but a simple egg fried rice and a dry salad vermicelli (bun tron nem nuong). Now, at least it is way much better. Though we still can not agree with the 5-star rating, they can still make it to 3 stars, in view that we would have given them 1-star based on our 1st visit.
Egg Fried Rice - rice texture is ok, moist but not mushy and aromatic with the "wok hei" (fried roast aroma).
Dry Salad Vermicelli (Bun Tron New Nuong) - roasted good, accompanying sauce is well balanced. If it's not the meat, we would have given this fish 4-stars. The grilled pork roll needed more grilling to bring out the aroma.
Thus, with 2 bad reviews and 2 good ones, we end up giving a fair 3-stars. When you visit, just don't order their signature chicken rice and signature chicken noodle. Both use breast meat, which is the benchmark to any good chicken dishes. Probably, these 2 chicken dishes are ok if you ordered...
Read moreWe came here today on Tet 1st day because most of the restaurant were closed and I quite fancy to give their mango smoothie a try since we came 2 days ago (the 2 photos I shared). Last time there was this young boy who's quite grumpy as a staff, but the rest of the staff were pretty nice, the owner even told us they only close in the morning of Tet. So last time the experience was still ok. Today, the young boy was at the outside tables while we arrived, when we walked towards him, he was enjoying himself walking around happily. The moment we told him we would like a table for two, his face immediately turned black and didn't respond to us at all. So we thought ok, we'd just find a table ourselves. When we sat down, we tried a few times to ask him to take order as there was no other staff around, he completely ignored us with black face even he walked pass us and we asked him right in front of him when he passed by. Then finally we saw another staff and tried to ask him to order but he pointed us back to this young boy. All these times the owner saw it but she didn't try to come and help. Finallly we decided to leave and look for something else. I think other potential customers deserve the right to know about this kind...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bep Viet Restaurant, and I am delighted to share my exceptional experience with fellow food enthusiasts. From the moment I walked in, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of warm hospitality and genuine care that truly set the tone for a memorable dining adventure.
My visit to Bep Viet Restaurant was an unforgettable journey through Vietnamese cuisine and culture, made all the more remarkable by the gracious hospitality and impeccable service of the owner. I was genuinely impressed when I discovered that she had memorized not only our seating arrangement but also the precise details of our order, including the specific quantities of food and drinks. This was particularly remarkable given the busy atmosphere of the restaurant during our visit a couple of days earlier.
I wholeheartedly recommend Bep Viet Restaurant to anyone in search of an authentic and delightful...
