This is yet another one of the many typical riverside restaurants located next to Thu Bon River, just outside of Hoi An OldTown. They have tables both inside as well as shaded ones on the riverbank. The service here is cheerful friendly, and they provide a nice atmosphere, especially when sitting riverside (nice evening/night views). Their prices are quite reasonable and on parity with all the other local, riverside restaurants. The menu has a large and good selection of usual Vietnamese foods and local specialities, as well as Western choices. They also have a good selection of alcoholic (beers, wines & cocktails) and non-alcoholic beverages (juices, milkshakes & soft drinks). I had a very tasty Cao Lau Xao (slightly different to the standard Cao Lau) at 95k followed by a Fried Pork with Chili & Salt at 95k. The pork could've been a bit crispier for my liking and the portion size was a bit on the small side, but overall the dish was tasty and quite flavoursome. I also had a very tasty and delicious Strawberry Milkshake made with ice-cream at 50k. (So nice I had two of them and...
Read moreWe came to Song Thanh when we arrived in Hoi An on our first night for a bite to eat for no reason other than it was close to our hotel. What a great decision. The food was delicious and the service fantastic. We were saying to Lan (who was great) we wanted to do a cooking class and the two things we’d loved most that we’d eaten in Vietnam were the deep fried spring rolls (which are different to what we have at home) and the crispy Vietnamese pancakes. Turns out the restaurant does a cooking class that includes both of those. We decided quite late in the piece one afternoon that we’d like to do it the next day and the hotel accommodated us for the morning. Our time included scooter ride into market (which was way more interesting with a local), cooking and lots of eating and laughs. Was 500,000VND pp and worth every cent (and more). Nhi (our chef) was an absolute delight. Can’t recommend this...
Read moreSong Thanh Riversise Restaurant is conveniently situated along the Thu Bón River, about 10 minutes walk from Hoi An Old Town and has plenty of seating inside and outside. My family and I enjoyed lunch and dinner at the restaurant and loved the atmosphere with the friendly staff and the relaxed river location.
The food was amazing and was undoubtedly the best meals that we experienced in Hoi An.
We were lucky enough for the owner of the restaurant to organise a tour out to the Coconut Boats for us, and when we arrived back after the tour we were provided with an amazing...
