I would have left 0 star if possible! Overrated and totally overpriced by the owner’s fame.
I disregard the 1 star reviews and bad experience from family and friends to make a trip to this spot on my vacation; and good God, this is the worst out of all the bad restaurants I’ve ever visited my whole entire life!
The food was okay, nothing special but prices got marked up significantly. For the targeted price range, you definitely expect great customer service. Well, that’s not what I got!
I ordered 11 items including 3 drinks, which took them 25 mins to take my tab. My bad choice, I should have gone with my instinct to leave at first place! No proper welcoming, no suggestion, nothing! I was given a piece of ordering paper and a tablet to look at the pics of dishes myself. Staffs were scattering around not knowing what to do and incapable to navigate through which dishes go to which tables.
I stayed for an hour in total, had three dishes dropped off at the table, and could not tolerate any longer; so I asked them to cancel the unserved items. The staffs ran around talking to each other about a resolution, then came back to me saying they only could cancel 1 dish out of the remaining 4.
I walked out with togo boxes feeling extremely upset for such a horrible time! I didn’t get to eat much for dining in but definitely filled with anger!
Please save yourself from this place! Take your money somewhere else that would serve you with respect!
I know my words will get lost in all the seedings and the fans’ reviews, but some people out there might read the 1-star reviews better than me...
Read moreFood looks delicious, but taste is mediocre. Don't be fooled by look and pictures. Seafood fried rice has imitation crab among the seafood. Other items are no better than (and sometimes worse) than street food.
The ambient looks clean with the old style low-class, Chinese theme, but service staff needs more training and behind the facade is not clean.
I left an opened tea pot on the table signifying a request for more hot water refill. Waiter and waitresses passed by, stared at it many times, but did nothing until I waved my hands to ask for a hot water refill. My wife observed a waitress eating dinner standing in front of the fake noodle cart--so uncharacteristic of a uniformed-staff, $$$$ restaurant despite the old style, low-class theme.
The worst part was visiting the men W.C. upstairs (no urinal, but a single toilet). I waited for the person inside to come out. It was a kitchen staff in black uniform and kitchen hat. He walked straight out without washing his hands after using and flushing the toilet. OMG. Toilet looks ok on the floor, but old dirty surfaces in many areas including the soap dispenser.
Final bill was about 750K VND for 2 people with 5 dim sum, 1 entree, 1 desert, 1 teapot.
Disappointed after this first and will be the only...
Read moreI know this restaurant through Tran Thanh, a multi talents actor in Vietnam.
The restaurant located on Le Thanh Ton street, which is quite easily to find. However, due to the building construction in front of the restaurant, it’s quite difficult for parking.
I went on Sunday so the restaurant was quite crowed. The kitchen is on the ground floor so you need to go upstair for eat in tables. In my perspective, I don’t like this arrangement so much because it’s quite inconvenient for elderly and disabled people.
The table is so small to put the stuff on. So I did not order too much food. At the time we went, most of the favorite food was out of stock so it’s quite a pity.
Staff was friendly and helpful. They collected the order quickly and food was served orderly. First was dimsum, finger food then main dish eaten with rice.
Food was not so delicious and special, just average. And the decoration seems quite easy. But I highly recommend you guys try the dimsum here. It doesn’t have so many kinds but the taste of each one is good.
Price is quite expensive. However, due to the golden location, it’s...
