The cuisine at this establishment is nothing short of exceptional, showcasing a remarkable depth of flavor that truly elevates the dining experience. Each dish is crafted with care, highlighting a harmonious blend of ingredients that tantalize the taste buds and leave a lasting impression. My own meal was a testament to this culinary artistry, bursting with vibrant flavors that danced on my palate and made every bite a joy.

Equally impressive was the service, which was provided by a dedicated and attentive staff, particularly my server, URI. From the moment I arrived, URI was warm and welcoming, ensuring that my needs were met with a genuine smile. Their knowledge of the menu and thoughtful recommendations added an extra layer of enjoyment to my meal, making me feel valued and well taken care of throughout my visit.

The food was served at an ideal temperature, which is often overlooked but is crucial for a delightful dining experience. Each dish arrived perfectly heated, allowing the flavors to shine and enhancing the overall enjoyment of the meal. It’s clear that the kitchen takes great pride in not only the taste but also the presentation and serving of their food.

I wholeheartedly recommend visiting this restaurant to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience. The combination of exceptional cuisine, outstanding service, and attention to detail makes it a standout choice. Just a small note for those planning to visit: the location is situated at the back of the building on the lower level, so be sure to keep an eye out for it. You won’t want to miss out on this...

A Taste of Saigon – An Authentic Culinary Gem

Dining at A Taste of Saigon is not just a meal, it’s an experience — and much of that is thanks to Kim, whose warmth and attention to detail set the tone the moment you walk through the door.

The restaurant itself balances comfort with authenticity: subtle décor, inviting aromas of herbs and spices, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel as if you’ve been welcomed into a Vietnamese home.

The food is nothing short of outstanding. Each dish bursts with freshness and balance — the delicate herbs, the depth of broths, and the harmony of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavors reflect true Vietnamese tradition. Standouts include the pho, with its rich yet clean broth, and the fresh spring rolls, which are vibrant, crisp, and perfectly paired with dipping sauces. Portions are generous without sacrificing refinement.

What truly elevates the experience is Kim. She has a natural gift for hospitality — attentive without being intrusive, always ready with recommendations, and genuinely passionate about sharing Vietnamese culture through food. You leave not only satisfied but also with the sense that you’ve been cared for.

In a world where many restaurants can feel impersonal, A Taste of Saigon shines because of the personal touch and the authenticity it delivers. Highly recommended for anyone seeking both exquisite food and...

I’m honestly unsure how the food was because I didn’t even get to eat it. My friends and I went out for our first Vietnamese dinner night, and we ended up leaving in tears. If you ever visit this place, I’d highly recommend double-checking everything on the menu with the server, chef, delivery guy, or even their grandma, Otherwise you’ll be blamed for ‘not mentioning your dietary restrictions’ before placing an order Here’s why: although the menu clearly stated "crab," what we were served was a crab + pork mixture of some mystery meat. I understand that might be their way of cooking, but the least they could do is mention it in the menu so customers know what they’re ordering. To make things even more awkward, the manager came over and asked me not to talk about this incident with anyone. They even offered the food for free as if that would fix the problem. Honestly, I believe respecting people’s preferences and beliefs matters more than handing out free food. I didn’t touch my plate, but my friends tried their "broken chicken" (which they didn’t serve with the promised coconut rice). They said it was mediocre at best. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. I won’t go back, and I wouldn’t recommend this...

This 'tucked out of the way ' place is a gem. Once we found it (yes, along the scooter filled laneway and turn left), we were well looked after by Tony. Bustling, but seated immediately and Tony was ready for our orders. As much as we would usually order a heap of food we had a huge eating day, so snacks were the order of the day.... The Wrap & Roll combo was perfect. Beautiful range, mint and lettuce for wrapping and beautiful nut sauce and fish dipping sauce. We ordered a side of fresh chilli too which were spicy and complimented perfectly. We also ordered the stir fried egg noodles with chicken and vegetables. Again, very nice and lots of cauliflower, green pepper, onions, coriander and greens all stirred through chicken slices with a beautiful sauce. Tony was attentive and waiting for us to finish the rolls and start on the noodles...but alas our eyes were too big for our stomachs today and we could only make sure we tasted a little of everything! We'll be back and highly recommend this place.

It's for tourists, what I mean by that is the style and cooking is targeted for foreigners (notice how there are no Vietnamese reviews almost?) 🤔 But actually I liked the food, it's just more pricy than you would get in a very local place outside the tourist areas. It's central D1, they have to make rent. For example the Com Tam is 189k while the real price is like 60k. They do use slightly better ingredients, which is something I liked 🙏 I heard from my local host that they have a lunch menu that is affordable and that locals working nearby go for bit we went at night so I didn't get to try it. I noticed restaurants in D1 sometimes have a tourist menu in English which is pricier and a different menu not in English for cheaper Vietnamese lunch, not sure if that's what's happening here. Is a gentle introduction to Vietnamese food for visitors, I'd take visitors not familiar with the local food there. 😇
