Update Apr 2022: The place is small and noisy if it’s fully occupied. Drinks are good but it’s weird when then use eco-friendly straws and single use plastic cups at the same time even if we don’t take away. Wifi doesn’t work properly. Their cakes look nice but the taste and texture are way too average! Cute packaging as always and even store decoration. Compare to the price and quality, I guess this place is kinda overrated!
Finally Bakes Saigon opened their place. Always deliver visual satisfaction for their products since day 1. No doubt the store has such a nice concept, designs and packaging are on point. They must spend a lot on these things I guess lol. Came here on Sunday afternoon and long queue, indoor seating wasn’t available, I picked some to take away and might come back for more. Their signature is sunny side up nonbaked cheese cake that looks perfectly perfect. Croissant is above average, texture is good but not so buttery. Tiramisu is average too, nothing special. But their scones are crazily delicious, moist is just perfect. Adding somes salty cheese cream on top is...
Read moreSpace: clean and cute, but extremely small with limited seats. Makes it seem like getting take out is the best opinion because we were made to wait for a long time for seats. Staffs: very helpful and polite. They were all very smiley and offered help as much as they could. Desserts: good looking and very instagramable. Their cakes are also not very expensive compared to other places. But the taste was a let down. Everything felt mediocre. As i was trying the desserts, i was left waiting for the hit on the nail but it eventually never came. The tastes were balanced, but boring. Drinks: definitely the biggest let-down of the place. We ordered banana latte (lacks of banana flavour) and yoghurt coffee (not sweet at all). Although the food was no where near exceptional, I'm willing to pay them another visit to try other dishes (for redemption of course). Also the wifi was not working which was a...

Review was supposed to be for the Pasteur branch but I'll post it to the closest branch in regards to their pastry quality.
Had heard great things about Bakes and it was on my list for a while. Since I was touring around friends through Vietnam we ended up going to the now closed branch formerly located at Pasteur. It was much bigger than it looks from the street. Very large ceilings and plenty of space to sit.
The main reason I decided to go here was for their selection of pastries, even though I'm mainly a coffee poster, sometimes I crave something different and this was the day. The pastries are great, from the visuals to the point you put it in your mouth. Have been sending sweet tooths back to Bakes quite often and fortunately they've all been happy with their visit as well.
However, that's where it stops. Their coffee was honestly one of the worst I've had which is...
