5 star restaurant with 1 star service.
TLDR - waiter adds the tip to the bill for themselves (see picture). Then complains to my Vietnamese wife that I did not tip after paying the bill. So I left an additional 200k at the expense of this 1 star review.
This should be a 5 star review. Everything was great until my final interaction with the staff when they were begging for tips after they added a tip for themselves to my bill (see picture). First let me explain, I'm from America and I always tip at least 25% of the bill. The only time I do not tip at restaurants is when the waiter adds the tip themselves to my bill. So I paid the bill exactly to the order, and the wait staff is complaining in Vietnamese that I did not tip. So I left an additional 200k on the table after my wife heard them complaining. I thought maybe I made a mistake and read the receipt wrong, but after I left I see that I was right and they added the tip themselves and then acting unprofessional complaining after they didn't get extra tips. What's funny is if they did not add the tip to my bill themselves, they would actually got much more money (25%), I would've left happy, this would be a 5 star review, and I would likely return to this restaurant. Now, because of the actions of your child waiter, I will never return and I will keep going to El Goucho, who never results in shady actions like this and has the same, or better...
Read moreWe ate here as a group of 4 and upon entry we were all wowed by the decor. Super rustic concrete interior, flambouyantly decorated throughout with a cross between industrial chic and grafiti styled portraits. Unfortunately that was the end of the "Wow" factor. We ordered a Green Goddess salad and a margherita pizza to begin. The salad was loaded with fish (no mention of this in the menu description) and the pizza was completely tasteless. With so many good pizza places around now you would think they'd make more of an effort. For our mains we ordered the half chicken, lamb chops, baramundi and rigatoni. Everything was over seasoned (salty), the lamb and the chicken I believe had the same seasoning and tasted the same. The lamb chops were of significantly different thicknesses and some were almost completely raw and trust me I like my lamb pink but this was cold at the centre. The so called gooey mac & cheese of which we ordered 2 was anything but gooey, dry and crusty would have been a better description. The best two dishes of the evening were the beef cheek rigatoni and the broccolini but both were also over seasoned. In conclusion this was a disappointing dinner and I have to wonder about the validity of the other reviews on here. IMO there's a lot of work to be done here to make it a repeatable experience. More of a feast for the eyes than...
Read more5 Star Experience at C's Steakhouse Saigon!
C's Steakhouse Saigon deserves every one of its 5 stars! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and excellent service. Our server, Thương, was phenomenal. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and went above and beyond to explain the specials, including the enticing half-off ribeye on either Tuesdays or Sundays (though I can't quite recall which).
The star of the show, of course, was the food. The ribeye was cooked to absolute perfection, bursting with flavor and tenderness. The scallops were equally impressive, cooked just right and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. While the hassleback potatoes were a bit firm and lacked textural variety, the bone marrow was an absolute treat, rich and decadent.
While the yellowtail sashimi wasn't quite to my taste, with a slightly fishy flavor, the lamb chops more than made up for it. They were cooked beautifully, showcasing the inherent deliciousness of the lamb.
Overall, C's Steakhouse Saigon delivered an exceptional dining experience. The delicious food, attentive service (especially thanks to Thương!), and warm atmosphere make it a true gem in Saigon. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a fantastic...
