FROZEN SHRIMP. AND BASA FISH.
YUCK. DISGUSTING.
250, 000 ++ for a tali. The most expensive in ho Chi Minh City. Should not be using frozen shrimp and basa fish.
This restaurant came highly recommended.
I was very excited.
And they have a seafood tali!!
Awesome.
I asked for spicy.
I ordered a seafood tali and one fish tikka dish.
The food came out was not spicy at all not even a little bit. I could have fed it to an infant.
THE GOOD
The lentil dahl was fantastic. The best of eating in over 20 years livin in Asia.
THE OK.
The fish tika was ok I really don't like bassa fish but it was okay it was too dry not enough marination and not spicy at all. Truly average. not the worst in ho Chi Minh City but definitely not the best.
The vegetable curry that came with the set was even worse. Very plain lacking of flavour and not spicy at all.
THE TERRIBLE
The shrimp curry that came out lacked flavour lack spices and worst of all USED FROZEN SHRIMP.
The naan bread........... I honestly thought it was chapatti. It was so small honestly the smallest in ho Chi Minh City absolutely ridiculous.
Advice.......
DONT USE FROZEN PRE SHELLED SHRIMP. FROZEN SHRIMP SHOULD ONLY BE USED BY RESTAURANTS IN PLACES THAT DO NOT HAVE DIRECT ACCESS TO FRESH SEAFOOD. LIKE IN THE MIDDLE OF A DESERT. HO CHI MINH CITY HAS AN ABUNDANCE OF FRESH SEAFOOD EVERYWHERE EASILY AVAILABLE.
Sea bass should be used instead of basa fish. A lot more marination should be used thick yoghurt-based marination dripping off the fish is absolutely fantastic. Dry lightly coated thin slivers of basa fish is not so good.
Increase the size of your naan bread to make it on par with other naan breads available at every other Indian restaurant in ho Chi Minh City.
Needless to say I would not be coming back to this restaurant and I would not recommend it to...
Read moreThis was recommended by an Indian friend. I think his opinion was correct as this is a good place.
The workers are very courteous and work hard. They also provided a dish of fresh water to clean my hands afterward, which no other Indian restaurant in Vietnam has done so for me (I've only been to 4, I think?).
The food seemed a little higher quality than the others I've tried. The portion size was a little bigger than the last place I tried in Thảo Điền.
Tried the chili vegetable momo (dumplings), 140K/$5.45. *I thought I had ordered the fried vegetable one, but the receipt says chili vegetables & and I think I remember the waiter saying/giving chili sauce for the momo. These were really good and the portion was good for the price. Kind of a teriyaki sauce.
Tried the chicken handi biryani (190K/$7.40). This was larger than I expected - which was good because I was hoping to take home half for a second meal (which I did). With the sauce, it was good. Without the sauce, it was slightly dry. Still tasted good.
I ordered garlic naan (60K/$2.35) - this was good, but maybe the weakest compared to the other places? It did seem larger, though.
One bottle of water was a reasonable restaurant price (18K$0.70).
8% VAT did raise the total bill a little more than I anticipated.
Nice looking interior, good...
Read morePLEASE IF YOU ARE STAYING IN SAIGON TRY THIS RESTAURANT IT WONT DISAPPOINT Wonderful food! The rice melted in your mouth and was super tasty, the waiter was very welcoming and the atmosphere was warm and cosy. Service was extremely fast and really good. I ordered paneer tikka for starters and it did not disappoint. The paneer texture was not too rubbery and not too loose which made it perfect, the naans and rumali rotis we’re also great with the jalfrezi and egg burji. The dal Makhni was OK, I think it was not aromatic enough and a little bland, I thought it tasted like khorma more than makhni. Although I am not sure about the non-vegetarian menu. As vegetarians the menu was varied and there were a ton of veg dishes. Highly recommend this place, underrated as well because there were not too many customers but the food was excellent!! I miss the taste of masala chai not having many Indian places in Vietnam and this place brought back lots of of comfort in the chai (tea). Also good for anyone trying Indian for the first time. In terms of price it is very cheap. Overall I have given 5 stars but the individual categories would rank as following : Food: 4.5 Service: 5 Aesthetics, Look: 5 Amenities: 4, has toilets but the smell...
