I don't know if something about this place just changed recently, but I am shocked to read all the excellent comments about their food. I got a feeling they just use the name of that Michelin recommended place a couple of blocks away that indeed serves great Pho. But this place does not.
I had a regular Pho Bo here late night several days ago. It was definitely the worst Pho I have ever had. They even fried beef before serving it in the soup. The broth was tasteless.
The only one guy working was extremely nice, welcoming and friendly, though didn't speak a word of English.
And the atmosphere around was quite nice. There is some super popular bar right across the street with hundreds of teenagers hanging out (I got no idea what they do, seemingly playing vide games on their smartphones, must be a very Vietnamese thing to do it in the street outside of some bar / coffeeshop at midnight, looks pretty interesting).
I was left with a very strong feeling that this place is a fraud that somehow uses the famous name to fool foreign tourists. If you're looking for a good Pho, walk several blocks further for THAT Pho place, it is only closed 3-6AM.
And I believe they ask everyone for a '5-star review on Google maps', as they have a card with such a request and a QR code taking you to this location on Google maps that he showed us after we payed and was rather insisting on me doing as was written on the card.

Read moreThis phở Việt Nam is not the Michelin-starred Phở Việt Nam restaurant. This pho restaurant is very small, with only four tables, making it feel cramped and less inviting. I accidentally booked this location on Grab instead of the other well-known Michelin Việt Nam, which I’ve visited several times and known to have much better pho.
The broth was bland and lacked depth, the chicken was decent, but the beef was chewy and tough. For half the price, you can easily find a much better bowl of pho at many other phở restaurants in the area.
While the service was average and the atmosphere simple, I do not recommend this location if you want authentic and flavorful pho. There are many other spots where you get more satisfying pho that is also better priced. This place might be convenient, but it falls short on taste, quality, and...

If you're looking for an incredible way to kickstart your day in Ho Chi Minh City, look no further than Pho Bờm. This unassuming, tiny spot truly packs a punch!
From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warmth. The lady running the place is super helpful and goes the extra mile – she even assisted us in garnishing our pho when it arrived, which was a lovely touch.
The portions are perfect, satisfying without being overwhelming. If you're extra hungry, the special pho offers a slightly larger serving. But what truly sets Pho Bờm apart is the broth. It's incredibly clean and flavorful, a testament to a well-crafted pho.
Don't let its small size fool you; Pho Bờm delivers a fantastic and authentic Vietnamese breakfast experience....
