Came here on April 2nd, 2019. The waiters and waitresses were horrible. First, when I placed my order, the waiter misheard my order, duplicating one of the dish. I then politely asked him to take note, which he declined, saying he could memorize my order.
Second, when I asked for a glass of iced water, they proceeded to chat loudly in the counter, and were bringing me a glass of ice (without water), and I noticed mid-way, so I had to remind them to do their job.
Next, I order an omelette. Since I came with my mom and brother, the omelette should have been cut in 6, or 3 so ease of sharing. However, it was brought whole, and without a knife, we had a hard time sharing it.
Last, I asked them to bring me some sauced, which the first waiter asked whether there should be any chili in it. We asked them to put in some chili. After the first sauce is done, we asked for a similar sauce, to which request they responded with a non-chili sauce. We had to gently ask them to bring another bowl of sliced chili.
To all of this, they showed absolutely no remorse over their lack of professionalism.
Been to this restaurant years ago very often, like thrice a week. I left VN to study, so I craved the food here very much. Not only the food quality dropped without brake, so did the attitude and professionalism of these waiters and waitresses.
Too bad, wouldnt...
Read moreWe were so looking forward to trying the food after reading so many great reviews, but we didn't even get that far as the staff were so rude and refused to serve us! They reluctantly seated us upon arrival and gave us menus, and then proceeded to spend the next half an hour ignoring us. They then brought over a dish we hadn't asked for (and still hadn't taken our order). They explained that it was complimentary, but we asked if it was vegan (this was the first they had spoken to us, so we hadn't had opportunity to mention our dietary requirements already) and they said no. But rather than take our order at this point, they took the dish away to another table, then all visible staff members stood behind the counter eating and chatting for another fifteen minutes or so. We continued to be ignored and ended up walking out without having even so much as a drink! I honestly don't see how they're still in business if they treat every customer like this. Perhaps they just don't like tourists. Shame, as we considered ourselves to be polite and patient under the circumstances! We wouldn't recommend this...
Read moreSolid spot for vegan food in the heart of Saigon. A bit confused at the entrance since it was inside a 5 story building (all owned by the acclaimed famous By Prem). Unlike the foreign touch of the sister Prem Bistro, Pi is more focused on Viet style food with a vegan twist. The most impressive dish we had was definitely the purple rice cooked with beans and ngưu bàng, aka the most expensive side rice on the menu, perfectly paired with mapo tofu vegan version using “fermented coconut sauce” that made us unable to stop devouring the whole meal. Everything we had was delish, but the corn cake was a bit disappointing, would not really recommend the cake...
