Came here with my wife and a group of friends on the weekend. I know this restaurant is very popular in Bangkok and as soon as they open a franchise here in Saigon, I gotta go. My first surprise was it's located right across from the Liberty Citypoint hotel on Pasteur street where this is one of the busiest streets in downtown but the restaurant was slow on a weekend. Was the marketing team not doing a good job on advertising it? Or this franchise wasn't living up to its name? I found the answers to my questions as soon as I was seated on the 2nd floor and ordered my food. The place is quite spacious as you go inside despite the look from the outside. The foods were bomb 💣! 4 of us ordered the majority on the menu with papaya salad (tum pla dook foo), deep fried chicken wings, sun-dried pork, thai prawn sashimi, grilled pork neck, pork skewer and more. Highly recommended this place for quality food. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Parking is gonna be at Liberty Citypoint then cross the street to enter...
Read morereally bad experience with service and food.
service: been to somtum der in nyc, bangkok and chiang mai and nothing but good experiences. this was bad on every level though. I was given a table, went to the bathroom, came down to tell the staff the sink wasn’t working. when i got downstairs, my table had been given away. they offered me another table in the corner and a server brought me to a working sink through building construction 3 floors up. came down again to find they had sat someone at my new table (the last open one) and had to watch as they asked her to get up. no apology or thank you
food: ordered sticky rice, nam tok moo and boiled fish with dipping sauces. the sticky rice was warm but tough and dry on the outside and unseasoned. nak tok moo was perfectly dressed but the grilled pork in the salad was so chewy and bouncy, almost black in color; i mostly ate around it. I waited 30 minutes after finishing the salad and my third...
Read moreAs much as I like to give this place a higher rating, I’ve been getting a lot of inconsistent service lately, especially my last one. When they initially opened, the food was quite good in flavor and serving. My Thai friends and I kept coming back from time to time.
But recently, to my fifth time ordering Pad Krapao Moo, I was served just more than half of the usual serving, and it wasn’t the same taste that I have used to love from this place. They did try to fix it but they just added more basil and chilli, but isn’t the same. I’m sorry but I am very disappointed.
Service is still good, but it seems to vary now depending on who’s serving. I may just be the unlucky one.
This review isn’t to bash or stop people from coming here, but more of a constructive criticism of an esteemed place and improve the service and quality of food. I hope in the future it improves as I had so much...
