Hue Nino Hotel — Hotel in Hue City

Very kind staff, world-class actually. Will go above and beyond for you. Thank you Tony, Lam, Nhi, & Van. You are all stars and this hotel is SO lucky to have you. And I sincerely appreciate all of your generosity and hospitality. You are the perfect ambassadors for Hue.||Good wifi, good AC, hot water in shower (most of the time), very comfy bed.||Delicious breakfast! Thank you guys!||Quiet neighbourhood.||But……||Difficult to find. Off the main road and on-line maps don’t recognize it. Gave me the opportunity to meet some kind locals though for directions:)||Very small room. The bathroom is particularly small and the shower leaks all over the floor.||Old frayed towels that need to be replaced.||Light from the hallway shines through the door, making it difficult to sleep without a mask.||Loud refrigerator.||Tedious (and a bit rude) asking paying customers to remove their shoes at the front door and put on slippers that hundreds of other people have used. Yuck! Only hotel in Vietnam (in the 6 cities I visited anyways) that asked you to do this. Even in Japanese hotels they don’t ask you to remove your shoes unless you are on tatami. Very bizarre.|Most confusing is that they then allow other guests to come down WITHOUT slippers and eat breakfast in their bare feet. COUPLE STAY AND VISA-RUN ROUNDTRIP TO LAO BAO BORDER

Small room, windowless bathroom and smelly. We pointed out that there were many ants on the floor from the hallway and on our luggage. After a full day out upon our return we notice that they did not change our room and that the ants were no longer on the floor but in the bed.

For the visa-run at Lao Bao Border do NOT book with this hotel: the price is TRIPLED and they sent you to the wrong bus station (Southern Bus Station) on purpose if you want to buy the ticket on your own. For a 3-hour ride they asked us 350VND/pax one-way (total roundtrip for 2 1.400 000VND) for a domestic minivan that stopped every 20 minutes, we were squeezed because there were more people than seats, a lot of stuffs under our feet and crazy driving.

We asked local people how much the Hué-Lao Bao stretch costs and they told us 120-150VND/pax and you can buy the ticket at the NORTHERN BUS STATION. As we say in Italy "lies have short legs" -...

We had such a warm greeting from the family at Hue Hotel, we felt truly welcomed. They gave us lots of helpful ideas about the local sights and how to work out an itinerary. The room was a good size, spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was modern with good hot water. The aircon worked well and there was a fridge in the room. We slept very well here+ The location was excellent for local restaurants and easy to get to the citadel. It's also down a peaceful side street which is quiet despite being very near the nightlife. Breakfast was tasty too! We hired scooters, with the hotel, to visit the emperor tombs outside the city. This was easy, the scooters worked really well and we had good advice about our route too! we loved our stay here and would really recommend...
