The place was pretty packed when I arrived at 8pm on a Tuesday. It took a while for them to take my order and another long wait before my food was served.

I asked for some recommendations and was offered hit plate dishes and the curry chicken in a coconut. Since I'm Asian I decided not to go with the usual Asian dishes and wanted to try something that can only be found in Vietnam. The recommended dishes were also the more pricey ones (as compared to single plate dishes).

I ordered a smoked pork dish stir fried with Chinese spinach, which came with rice. In Chinese the smoked meat is called 腊肉, which is preserved pork and it had some really hard bits in them. The owner was also kind to offer me more rice if I ever needed. It was ok, there was a unique smoked taste, but the pork wasn't really to my liking - it was my own choice after all.

I was mindful that good food is difficult to come by in Sapa (strangely). I fully agree that the signature dishes would most probably be awesome and if I had been there with a group of friends (like everyone else), I would have ordered them. This is still a great establishment.

There is also a nice warm vibe from this family business.

There's probably no "good" time to visit as it's a popular highly rated restaurant. I will propose in the next version of their menus to include more pictures, a write up of the food and most importantly, some chef's recommendations. I think almost every western tourist had their head hit by the huge wooden signboard when they walked out...

This review is long overdue, but some experiences are just too good not to share. Out of our 5 nights in Sapa, we chose to have dinner at Good Morning Vietnam Restaurant on 3 of them and for good reason!

Unlike many Vietnamese restaurants that focus on pho and grilled meats, Good Morning Vietnam offers a selection of unique and flavourful dishes that truly stand out. Their Coconut Chicken and Vietnam Chicken King were absolutely delicious, while their fried rice was to die for...perfectly cooked, fragrant, and packed with flavour. The Bún Chả, fried noodles, and bánh xeo were just as amazing, each dish prepared with authenticity and care. And let’s not forget their chili sauce...out of this world!

To complement the meal, their lemongrass ginger tea was a highlight. Made with fresh lemongrass and ginger (not pre-packaged tea bags), it was wonderfully aromatic and soothing...just the perfect drink after a long cold day of exploring Sapa.

Beyond the food, what made our visits truly memorable was Sunny, the owner. His warm hospitality and genuine passion for ensuring a great dining experience made us feel welcome each time. His recommendations were spot on, and his friendly nature made dining here even more special.

If you’re in Sapa and looking for authentic, delicious Vietnamese food with excellent service, Good Morning Vietnam Restaurant is a must-visit. Thank you, Sunny, for making our meals so enjoyable...we’ll...

This was one of the highest-rated restaurants in Sapa, and I didn’t want to miss it on our trip. I’m so glad we made it here for lunch as a family after a tiring walk back from Cat Cat Village. We were warmly welcomed by the owner himself, who instantly made us feel at home.

Our children were exhausted and went straight for drinks and ice cream, which they could easily choose from the menu options also available in English. For mains, we ordered vegetable fried rice and pork fried rice, while the kids enjoyed burgers. Both fried rice variations were full of flavour, with delightful textures and aromatic spices. The children also loved the burger & fries. The staff spoke excellent English and served our food quickly.

We initially missed the famous coconut chicken curry we’d read about in other reviews, but decided to try it anyway — and we were so glad we did! Its aroma and flavour brought back memories of traditional cooking from our homeland and in the end we also scooped out the tender coconut flesh, which was just as tasty.

The restaurant’s wooden-panel décor, open layout, and plentiful fans made the ambience very comfortable. We left with full hearts and full stomachs — truly a memorable...

Sonny welcomes you and makes sure your seat is comfortable and that you are happy. His gregarious personality is quite charming. My husband had beer and Sonny’s wife made a delicious cup of cinnamon tea for me that took the chill out of my bones. We ordered spring rolls, Sapa soup and long and slow cooked pork. Everything was so good that we wanted to return but in our travels, we like to try different places. “Ah, forget that!” The next night, we went back and ordered the same beer, tea, fresh spring rolls (YUM) and Sapa Soup. I also ordered the hot apple wine which was good and strong. We decided to order a cup of the pumpkin soup as well and the chicken coconut curry. What were we thinking? There was so much food! We were not in the least bit disappointed in our Christmas Eve and Christmas night dinners! Do not miss out on this delightful quaint restaurant! (Ps.
