Halosa Restaurant - Lounge & Cafe — Restaurant in Sa Pa Ward

Overall lovely experience with friendly staff, good food, and a fantastically clean restaurant. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for good Vietnamese food delivered in a more “western” manner.

Food: We ordered tofu in tomato sauce, fried vege spring rolls, and a mango smoothie. It came to 230k VND. On the expensive side, but we believe that’s just Sa Pa, unless we go looking for a random restaurant in the local area of town and care less about good reviews and cleanliness. The food was great, really some of the best we’ve eaten in Vietnam.

Service: We were greeted with a friendly smile and shown a table. They set our table and took our order. Everything went smoothly and had no problems. We paid with cash because card comes with an extra charge. The only reason I gave 4 stars for service was their English wasn’t the best, but we’re in Vietnam so it’s not fair to expect the world! The toilets were the cleanest I’ve seen in Vietnam in three weeks, apart from those in Sa Pa station. One improvement for them to address is that the dishes were served on large plates as if they were our mains, and no small eating bowls were provided. I felt lost after three weeks of picking food off the centre of the table into my small bowl to eat. I guess that is the restaurant catering for westerners.

Atmosphere: Unfortunately the restaurant was empty when we arrived for dinner. The waiter said most people come in the morning rather than dinner. We trusted our research (looking for no bad reviews on google maps), and proceeded in. We’re glad we ignored the gut feeling of not wanting to walk into an empty restaurant because we had a great time. A big group also joined shortly after and this helped the atmosphere. Kind of international dishes. We are a group of 3 friends, this restaurant was selected on Google map and it was amazing set, excellent food. there is a person speak English too👍 I strongly recommend salmon spring roll it was mouthwatering and the stir fried noodles with beef was excellent.
