Just checked out from Sapa Retreat today and cant wait to make review.
Staying in Sapa Retreat is one of our amazing experience on 13 days trip from south to north Vietnam.
The hotel is so generous with their guest. After 6 hrs trip from Hanoi we came early in the morning. The hotel allow us to drop our bag, wash face, do the toilet stuffs, change clothes because they provide 3 outdoor toilets. We were lucky cause they also gave us early check in on 9 am.
The room itself is perfect. Spacious with comfort bed (200x200cm), 4 big pillow, 2 small pillow and comforting blanket. The room also has fridge, fan, heater, air conditioner, tv, dressing table, wardrobe, seating area with chair table and sofa bed. The bathroom is huge with separated shower and pretty sink.
Breakfast with the price you pay is more than enough. Breakfast buffet with Juice, Coffee, Tea, Rice, Corn, Noodle, Sausage, Egg Station, Pho, Bun and 1 traditional desserts (i dont know the name)
The staffs are nice although some of them have language barrier. But I don't think that's big problem. But the bald guy in the reception (i didn't ask his name) has good english and very attentive. He's really nice. Show us the guide to cat cat village and boarding point for our bus.
Location is also perfect. Behind Sun Plaza, still in the middle of the city but serene and quite.
Best of the best the view and the Funicular train. The train always pass beside the hotel and this is huge jackpot!
The hotel doesn't have elevator. If you still young and have strong legs, take the stairs. Sapa is the city of stairs, not just the hotel. Stairs are everywhere around the city. This hotel is not recommended for elderly, person with leg problem or spoiled human who dont want take the stairs.
I dont understand with the people who gave 1 star or bad review to this hotel. What's wrong with you?? The hotel gave you more than you pay. If you have high standards, want perfect service and facilities, go to 5 stars hotel and pay more!!
Thank you Sapa Retreat Hotel. Will surely come back if we come...

Review: Sapa Retreat Condotel – A Budget-Friendly Base for Trekking I booked a 4-day, 3-night stay at Sapa Retreat Condotel (listed as “Hotel One Homestead” on some platforms), which included a trekking activity. Given the active itinerary and affordable price, I didn’t expect luxury—and that’s exactly what this place delivers: a no-frills, backpacker-style base that gets the job done.
Location & Vibe The surroundings are rough around the edges—think industrial metal stairs, open construction sites, and an unfinished feel. It’s not the polished resort experience you might picture in Sapa, but if you’re here to trek and explore, it’s functional and centrally located.
The Room I lucked out with a corner room that had windows on two sides, offering decent views (one side overlooked a construction field, but the other gave a glimpse of the mountains). The room itself was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly nice for the price—definitely a highlight. Meals were included: breakfast and dinner. I missed dinner due to scheduling, but breakfast was solid—simple, hearty, and filling (perfect fuel for trekking). One downside: the coffee was pretty bad. Bring your own instant packs if you’re particular.
Overall If you’re looking for a budget-friendly spot with included meals and trekking, this condotel works. Just manage expectations—it’s more hostel-meets-trekking-lodge than boutique hotel. Great for active travelers who prioritize experience over aesthetics.

Read moreOne of the worst hotel experiences we've ever had. We booked a room through Klook two months in advance and had already paid, but when we arrived, the hotel claimed they no longer had any contract with Klook and had canceled their agreement—without informing us.
Klook requested the hotel to confirm the cancellation with us via email or call so we could receive a refund, but the hotel never reached out. It was 10:30 PM, the temperature was around 3–4°C with heavy fog, and we had no idea where to go. When I spoke to the owner, he was completely indifferent and said he didn’t care about customers or their bookings.
Only after we mentioned recording a video and posting a review did they offer us a room for one night free of charge. With no other choice, we accepted. The room was in terrible condition—it smelled strongly of urine and was freezing cold. We could barely stay the night and left at 6 AM the next morning.
Please avoid booking this hotel. They have no regard for their customers and do not care if you suffer due to their negligence.
If you truly care about your loved ones or family, please avoid...
