The most unhygienic and unappetizing food we have every eaten in entire Vietnam! I am happy for those people who had good experiences here but my family and I had the worst and after eating here, we got so traumatized and did not eat Sapa local food anymore. It was a rainy day when we came here, there menu was soaking wet and we sat in one of the tables. We ordered the salmon hotpot which was horrible as the veggies that came along with it were served on a very oily plate which did not seem to be washed. The corn and mushroom also seemed very old and not fresh. The Bahn xeo was so soggy and mushy. The grilled pork on bamboo with sticky rice tasted okay. The staff were mostly kids/teens at that time. To top it all, they had this cat which jumps from one chair to another. We asked the staff to take it away as its not very hygienic and they picked it up and did not wash their hands, then came to our table to serve our meal. This is the most disgusting dining experience ever. It cannot even compete against eating in the streets of saigon and hanoi which was way more cleaner than this restaurant. To those planning to eat here, I wish you all the best and good experience which we did not have.

The "family restaurant" in SAPA is the best dining experience we have had in Vietnam. The quality of the food and the personalised service, as well as the friendliness of the staff is exceptional. The exceptional value for money is incredible. I still miss the prawns with lemongrass that I take there and the fresh spring rolls. Back (the owner), as well as her staff, wants the best for her customers, advising them on the best food on the menu, regarding our own preferences. The English spoken by the staff there is really good! During our stay in Sapa, this was the restaurant we always went to on the nights we were there, as it was the best around. They welcomed us with such friendliness and warmth that they brought us complimentary fruit, this gentle gesture is one of the owner's strengths, is to make the customers feel as if we were part of his family, as is the restaurant's name. I can't recommend this restaurant enough! Thank you Back, your family and your team for your incredible food, welcome and work! We miss your food already!

Such a cute, friendly little restaurant. What a great find!!! Atmosphere was abit dark but upstairs is a lot cooler (due to breeze) and brighter. We ordered fried chicken x2 - chicken is soft, batter is crunchy, it is better with fish sauce than to eat with tomato sauce. Sweet and sour pork dish x2 was yummy Beef stir fried- lots of lemongrass but the beef is so tough. I wouldn’t recommend since the beef was so tough. Green vegetable soup with minced pork- slightly bland but fish sauce will fix it. Stir fired morning glory with garlic- delicious. Some type of vegetable shoot stir fired- also delicious. We ordered 4 big bowls of rice. Ordered their homemade wine ( ruou tao meo)- quite easy to drink. Easier to drink than corn 🌽 At the end of the meal, they send us watermelon 🍉 as complimentary. Overall, it was a very homey meal, like mom’s cooking. Very lovely, friendly waiter. Reasonable price I would recommend this restaurant.

I think we must have ordered poorly, given the good reviews from others. But this was probably one of our more disappointing meals. The food wasn’t bad, it was just very average/standard fare. And given the reviews, we were hoping for better. The menu is extensive though, so again, perhaps we just chose wrong.

We ordered the pumpkin soup, honey duck, grilled black pig pork with lime leaf and sticky rice, and some veggies.

The pumpkin soup unfortunately was hard to eat, and we only had a few spoonfuls. It was over salted, pure pumpkin without anything besides the salt added, and one note. I was also expecting something a little more creamy.

The duck and grilled pork both seemed to be sautéed dishes served on a hot plate. I was a bit thrown by the pork dish given they had described it as grilled pork on the menu, but they assured us it was the right dish. Both were fine, but frankly too similar. The duck was just sweeter...
