This is a review of the CityCats rather than this particular CityCat terminal- which is all much the same.
Riding a CityCat is a must for any visitor to Brisbane and a surprisingly rewarding experience for locals. This is the ultimate way to see the variety of Brisbane lifestyle, buildings and landmarks in a relatively inexpensive and easy to use service. Depending on how much have, you can explore Brisbane from the quiet rescue residential area of St Lucia to the busy reaches of the Brisbane river around Hamilton.
The CityCat is part of the TransLink network so you use your GoCard or [or it’s soon to be introduced Smart Ticketing]
Simply tap on and ride the CityCat for the entire round trip. For example, if you get on at South Bank, go upstream to the University of Qld, stay on the boat and then go right to Hamilton, stay on the boat and return to South Bank.
That round would trip will take about two hours and 40 minutes all up. The off-peak cost for an adult at the time of writing is $3.37.
But you can jump on and off and off and if you get back on without an hour it is considered as a continuation of your journey for the one fare.
The new generation of CityCats has a top deck that you ride on. Otherwise, the front or rear decks provide an exhilarating experience.

Read moreWent to travel for the first time to support the dogs travelling on city cats, we have a 5kg dog that we carry told we need to muzzle which we do understand or carry him in a crate (I didn't know what we would do with the grate when we were shopping (we have about 6 shops in the city that love that we bring Reynold in) - also the markets. We went to size up for a muzzle but he's to small. Ideas - section for dogs and owners on certain time ferries or crates that we can borrow. Then lastly how about common sense and a bit of individual decisions. Small dog on our knee - really - he looks so dangerous!!! haha Even the person letting us on no muzzle your not getting on! Any alternative options - no just hop off - with out causing a scene we did and drove. Reynold and his sister were sad but I had to tell them some people don't like dogs and we need to get like Europe who embrace their dogs. Most dogs are cleaner then the people getting on...
Read moreHaving recently relocated to brisbane, we spent our morning traveling with the city cat . The staff were absolutely amazing , with the incredible Camille offering sunblock to hubby and me, so that we could continue standing at the front and soaking up the views. She even offered us a cold bottle of water that she brought from home, to help keep up hydrated. The trip it self was very good, but the City cat staff make the trip an experience. ! Can’t wait for the next adventure with...
