Queen Street Mall was officially opened in 1982 & has become the perfect meeting place to meet up with friends or family members to enjoy the hundreds of shops from department stores to fashion boutiques that align the Mall from Edwards Street right through to George Street 😀 👍
One of the major department stores to name is David Jones, which is located in Queens Plaza.
You will also find a range of renowned international luxury boutique store outlets such as Burberry,Tiffany & Co,Dior,Saint Laurent, Chanel, Fendi, plus many other excellent high end stores.
You can take the escalators to the upper level to find other store outlets such as Aje, Zimmermann, Sas & Bide,Gorman, Scanlan Theodore, & other great stores.
As you move up the Mall, you come across the many food outlets that are located downstairs at the circular food court.
You can also visit the old Regent's Theatre, which is now a Brisbane City Council information centre, which is situated at the forefront of the Theatre 🎥
Another place that you definitely need to visit is the Brisbane Arcade, which is a heritage listed property that recently celebrated 100 years of business. You can relax & enjoy a shopping experience at Keri Craig Emporium on the lower level 😀 Or take the lift up to the ROOM with ROSES 🌹 to enjoy one of their famous High Teas 🍵 😉 That is just a taste of what you can expect to see in this historical building.
If you are planning on parking, the Queens Plaza is open Monday to Saturday from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm & Sundays from 10.30 am to 4.00 pm. You can enter its 24-hour car park at 250 Edwards Street.
The multi-level basement car park has five levels with more than 600 parking bays, making it the perfect spot to park for your shopping expedition.
So why not make time when you are next in the Brisbane CBD to take advantage of spending some hard earned money to buy an outfit, have a meal, or a cool drink or a coffee at Jimmy's On The Mall.
You can't go wrong by making a day out & get out to enjoy a great day in the Queens...
Read moreQueen Street Mall is the heart of Brisbane’s shopping, dining and entertainment scene, and one of the most vibrant pedestrian malls in Australia. Stretching through the city centre, it features over 700 retailers including international brands, Australian fashion labels, department stores, luxury boutiques and specialty shops. Whether you love fashion, beauty, technology or souvenirs, you can find everything in one place.
The mall also offers a wide range of cafés, dessert shops, restaurants and bars, from casual bites to stylish dining experiences. Street performers, live music and seasonal events bring constant energy to the area, making it lively day and night. With plenty of seating, shade and open spaces, it is a great spot to relax, meet friends or people-watch.
Queen Street Mall is not just a shopping street—it is a cultural and social hub. Nearby, you can easily access Brisbane City Hall, Treasury Casino, the riverfront and public transport. The mall is clean, safe and pedestrian-friendly, attracting both locals and tourists.
Although many Australian cities have shopping precincts, Queen Street Mall is truly one of the best and most iconic. I have visited many shopping centres across Australia, but this one has the most atmosphere, variety and convenience. It perfectly combines retail, food, entertainment and city lifestyle in one unforgettable location.
If you’re in Brisbane, Queen Street Mall is a must-visit...
Read moreQueen Street Mall is the beating heart of Brisbane’s CBD—vibrant, busy, and full of character. It’s a pedestrian-only strip that stretches several blocks and packs in over 700 retailers, from luxury brands like Louis Vuitton and Chanel to high-street staples like Zara, H&M, and Uniqlo. Whether you’re after fashion, tech, beauty, or quirky local finds, there’s something for everyone.
The atmosphere is lively, especially on weekends when it feels like half the city is out and about. Street performers, pop-up stalls, and seasonal decorations add to the buzz. There are plenty of food options too—from quick bites to sit-down spots—but finding a quiet corner can be tricky when it’s packed.
That said, the crowds can be overwhelming, and parking is a bit of a nightmare. Many visitors end up ditching the car and opting for public transport instead, which is thankfully very accessible. Prices in the area can also be steep; so it’s worth planning ahead if you’re on a budget.
Still, Queen Street Mall is more than just a shopping destination—it’s a slice of Brisbane life. Whether you’re browsing, people-watching, or just soaking in the city vibe, it’s a must-visit. Just bring comfy shoes and a bit of patience...
