02/05/2025 - update. 3 years later and I'm back and it didn't disappoint. Just fantastic, food was fabulous, service served with a smile and still reasonably priced. Good to see its the same owners still.

Wow, wow and wow. This place was incredible. So firstly, to find this place is alittle tricky but it is tucked away down alittle lane way. Between adelaide street and queen street.

It is most differently a quirky little cafe located down a little laneway. The entrance to it is quiet small but still easy to find.

The food was beautiful, with loads of flavour and also healthy. The prices are alittle steep however the servings are large and everything is cooked fresh and you can tell as soon as you start launching into the food. My partner and I had the Rolled omelette, the avocado on toast and the chocolate sourdough hotcake. They were all divine. A lot of food for 2 people. But we gobbled it all up. The rolled omelette was huge with loads of shaved ricotta on top and the artichoke sauce inside was to die for. The avocado on sourdough was delish. However the chocolate sourdough hotcake stole the show for me, it was huge but it was fluffy, delicious and not overly sugary. You didn't feel like you were having something bad. It was just perfect. Plus the brittle on top was just more perfection.

The staff - perfect in all ways, they were friendly, happy, attentive and just good at their job. Coffee was also amazing and so was the smoothies.

Overall we will be back a 5 out of 5 for this place. The best breakfest place...

Service: it was busy so we put down our name and the host said 15min. That’s fine. 20min pass and several others that arrived after us were being called for tables. Only when we enquired, she offered us a 2 seater square table for 3 people. She said it was another 10min wait if we wanted a 4-seater table. We accepted the 2 seater with an additional stool on the side as we already waited awhile. NOTE: the 4 seater table was FREE the entire time we were sat??? No reservation sign or anything on it, she just refused to give it to us for no apparent reason. The table was incredibly cramped for 3 plates and 3 drinks, never did she come over and offer to move us to the free larger table

Coffee: coffees arrived towards the end of our meal. Cappuccino was burnt and bitter

Food arrived quickly but BEFORE our drinks? Avo on sourdough: the spread on the sourdough was funky, the kimchi Brussel sprouts appeared to be old

Sausage and potato omelette: girl why was the sausage on the side like that? If anything the potato should be on the side and the sausage cooked INTO the omelette. Sausage also appeared to be boiled. The fennel was overpowering.

Price is extortion for what you get. Be prepared to pay $40 per person for a meal + drink. You’re done if you get extras, $4.5 for one egg …

Don’t come here, it’s so expensive...

Review is from 2021, but edited recently.

Hate to leave this review as I had a delicious breakfast, the atmosphere was great and the staff were nice. I actually loved it. I ordered the potato latkes which were perfect and tasted really good. The place was busy but steady. The food did take 45-60 mins to come out, a little annoying but not a big deal as I brought my laptop to do some writing on. After I finished my food (within about 10 minutes), I was going to order a smoothie or something - I didn’t know as my menu had been taken away and there were no menus within reach/sight. There was a small queue at the counter so I decided to wait until it cleared and go up and get a menu. I went back to my laptop and a minute later was asked to leave so the table could be given to someone else. No question of if I was finished. As there’s no table service the onus is on us to keep food/beverages on the table I guess. There were other tables with people finished but I didn’t hear any couples or groups get asked to leave. Pretty offended to be honest that when I’d finished my last mouthful and plate taken I was asked to go. I did tell the host who had asked me to leave that I was about to order a smoothie (if they had them) and she said it was okay to stay, but I was put off...

we ordered the felix bowl and had a rude shock when the bowl came and the vegetables were chopped so ridiculously large we thought it was a joke. the cucumbers were the size of ping pong balls and i’ve never seen such large strips of capsicums in my life. the nut bread was dry and so was the tofu, and there were random mounds of salt in the bowl. when we tried to ask if there was anything that could be done about the ridiculously large vegetables (eg. swapping a different dish or having the kitchen help to chop it smaller) the staff were quite rude about it, saying that this is “just how they make the bowl”. When i pulled up photos from google of a similar bowl which also had cucumbers in it, and where the cucumbers were sliced and about 5 times smaller than the ones we got, the waitress actually said that their “cucumbers are not cut by machines and we must allow for variations in size”. we completely understand that getting a dish and having it come looking completely different is just something someone accepts, but the way the staff handled this was super disappointing. They refused any alternatives that we suggested and were very rude in the way they responded to all of our comments. Would not recommend anyone to come here.
