I'm sorry guys, but I was very disappointed.
We stayed at the Sebel and also had a meeting here, so I (and all my fellow work colleagues) spent quite a bit of time in the bar and restaurant and I don't know if there is an attitude problem with the staff or if they are maybe just under staffed. But we found service was disgraceful.
The wait and bar staff were rude, arrogant and slow.
There was one young lady and I so wish I got her name, as she was exception and I am so sorry to have to put her in the same review as the rest of them.
If staff do read these, then the young girl that was say very early 20's darker skinned, you were awesome, I think you overheard me complaining to my mates about how bad this place was and the service you offered was awesome. I don't know how long you have worked here, I am thinking not long. If that is the case you may want to look for work elsewhere, as that environment can be toxic and you don't want the others bringing you down.
On a good note and I must say, of very much a surprise, the food was wonderful. We only had lunch here on one of the 3 visits and it came out very fast and was very tasty, so guys in the kitchen, well done.
A note to management, if you read these reviews, can I recommend, you maybe do your own review of this place, but don't do it yourself, get someone you know, but that no one else knows) to go in and order a drink or two and get them to just sit back and watch the staff (without making it obvious). Ideally, get them to go in when there one of the function rooms have been booked out and the hotel is full, as this will be a good indication that the guest for the meeting will be staying there, so that would be the best time to watch how the staff handle the extra workload.
Good luck, and hope this helps you...
Read moreHaving had breakfast & dinner it’s safe to say “ Attention to detail is not management’s forte - charging like wounded bulls is the ultimate goal”
Having been shown to our table I was disgusted to see, let alone use the old raggedy, worn out, discoloured & poorly ironed napkins on the table !
Looking at the menu I can reassure the readers Breakfast was not cooked to order, the eggs & bacon were more on the cold than Luke warm - it was evidently clear the food had been sitting in the warmer for sometime.
The Coconut waffle’s were also precooked, cold, heavy and impossible to chew, sending the plate back - the attention to detail was lost in the cooking - given that we could see 3 “cooks” in the kitchen & 8 patrons in the restaurant it would not have taken too long to cook breakfast to order - the many cafes with in the area have no problems cooking a made to order freshly cooked breakfast!!!
Charging $9.50 for sparkling water presented in a house Caraffe - the same Caraffe we watched the bar person fill with water and then carbonate!!Appalling!!
It certainly wasn’t French or Italian bottled water we are talking about water from the tap and carbonated for a few seconds!!
SHAMEFUL! ! Management clearly believe it is acceptable to charge $9.50 for home made sparkling water when other restaurants & cafes don’t add a charge for house made sparkling water!!

Read moreHaving dined at Bluestone since opening and attending functions at the venue I felt secure in booking well in advance for there Christmas Luncheon. Having contacted Bluestone in September regarding availability, menu selection etc felt at ease booking and making payment in full only last week. Red flags did appear initially with the booking the terms and conditions changed, no menu could be provided we demonstrated flexibility on our behalf but had proceeded with the booking in good faith. Only to be contacted a week after paying and agreeing to all their terms and conditions to be informed that they had decided to cancel there luncheon for this year siting lack of staff. I do realise Covid 19 times are tough and challenging but I can't see how Bluestone has the ability to look into their crystal ball and offer the excuse of no staff two months out from Christmas. Finding a similiar venue at this late notice was an uphill battle and an unwanted stressful time for all concerned. The manager did offer to host our group of 6 for Christmas Day breakfast obviously not a three course lunch so that offer was not taken up. If Bluestone has been at compacity for prior Christmas Day lunches I'm sure it would of been profitable for them to warrant opening. But with the organizational skills shown in the past two months I doubt they were ever going to reach compacity in 2022 hence the cancellation. Certainly found other venues more accommodating than Bluestone who just a reminder were my second choice for...
