St John's Anglican Cathedral — Attraction in Sydney

This is the first church that my family and I had been to after coming to Australia. Since I was new, I could not understand the typical accent of the priest, and the sermon went above my head! My wife comforted me to relax and told me that I will get used to the accent and will understand the sermons soon. And as a matter of fact, I was born in Hindu family and was coming to know about Jesus Christ in those days! We were in great distress in those days, as we did not have PR. i never knew the power of prayers, but with Christ with us, we started praying, asked some of the church mates to pray for us, and eventually by God's grace, we got our PR in this country. One fine Sunday, I was participating in an evening mass in the hall adjacent to the church. The preaching was about Tithe. That is the first time I came to know about Tithing. It instantly struck a chord with me, and I started religiously tithing to the best of my ability. I must say that I never faced any personal financial crisis ever since, and I could abundantly help many churches and families in India with tithing at a very limited personal level. I have a business of my own. As the Malachi 3:10 says, "Test me in this", I started keeping aside some portions at the beginning of every month as tithe, and kept a proportionately higher and historically impossible target for my small business to achieve. Unbelievable, yes, it was just unbelievable! The business started kicking in, the money started flowing in, I do not know from where! But, money was just coming in, and crossing that specific target we set at the month. I am indebted to this church and the priest (2016-2017) for his sermon about tithing. God's instructions for financial abundance and financial management are very clear in the Bible. I am following the same to the best of my ability. I encourage you and pray that you also start following the same for your own financial freedom Amen....

An amazing church to go to every Sunday and it’s the best place to grow you spiritually and personally. All brothers and sisters in Christ are very caring for you and never get tired to pray for you. Today I was stuck in the lift carpark and I called Sherwin, my Bible group team leader, he couldn’t come but liased with David , our pastor , was on the way immediately to that carpark for me. I’m not sure a friend would do that for me but through this aweful experience, my church was there for me and I’m forever grateful for that. Being a member of St John Anglican Parramata church has been always my best decision. Thank you Lord for I’m still safe...

The place around the cathedral, especially the place between the cathedral and the town hall is central stage for cultural events all year round in Paramatta. There are Tai Chi groups near the church in the morning with participants of various cultural backgrounds. There are so many visitor or passers-bys in this vigorous place but it is still considered a safe spot thanks to surveillance cameras and occasional patrol...
