Walked in to very unfriendly receptionist (short hair blonde angry looking woman). Already bad vibes, didn’t feel welcomed. The room itself looks quite nice but lacks many amenities like fridge, coffee supplies which you would expect from the price of this place. That would make the hotel probably 3 stars from me… unfortunately it gets 1 star because the cleaner (I assume) literally stole/took a full bag of groceries and wine from our room. BTW this bag could NOT have been mistaken for trash as it was full of unopened packets of food and unopened wine. Was about €40-50 worth of groceries. The cleaner also didn’t touch anything else in the room e.g. she didn’t take out the trash bag, refill towels, or move ANYTHING else on the floor. Just took the bag. Went to reception as soon as I realised and the receptionist (old male with white hair) literally, I kid you not, laughed at me and told me the cleaner must have taken it. Ohhh yes the cleaner must have taken it that’s fine then thanks for explaining! He said he couldn’t do anything (what is he there for then?) and that I would have to come back tomorrow morning when the “chief” is working. I know it’s only groceries but me and my girlfriend came on this trip with quite a tight budget so this was definitely a big hit for us. Absolutely do not recommend this hotel unless you like having your stuff stolen, which if you do that’s interesting, but each...
Read moreTo be honest, the room was underwhelming. The mattress was near solid, maybe some people like that but my back ached to the point I could barely move.
More odd was the lack of toilet paper. We stayed 2 nights and ran out of what was in the holder almost immediately, and after the room was cleaned the next day we didn't have any more.
What they did have was a box of tissues, so that sufficed I guess, but what an odd thing not only to not replenish but not have any spare.
No tea or coffee in the room, for the price we paid this is very sub-standard. They even asked at check-out if we had any drinks from the room?! From where? A secret concealed cupboard? No idea.
Also, our mistake, but this hotel takes payment on check-out, not when you book. Took us by surprise but wasn't a hassle, just something for people to be aware of.
The location was probably the best bit about this hotel but again, I come back to the price. You can stay right in the centre for the same cost.
Breakfast was good, a little on the basic side, but it's a small hotel so you're not fighting masses of people. Coffee was great, and...
Read moreWe booked this hotel specifically because the website stated it has airconditioning in the rooms. Well they have ac’s in the rooms BUT these are blocked so they do not work! Management decision’ we were told. This meant rooms were warm. Opening the windows was not really an option due to mosquito’s (room facing the yard) or streetnoise (room facing the street).
My room was clean and the location is convenient (15 minute walk to thd city center). My showercabin was tiny and it was impossible to shower without flooding the bathroomfloor. It was a nice shower though… Breakfast buffet was simple but nice. The coffee was good! My room was next to the laundry, which was noisy at times. The rooms in general are rather noisy. I could hear the conversation my ‘neighbours’ were having.
My friend had a room with a milkglass bathroomdoor. As there was a window in the bathroom without curtains this meant the room could not be fully darkened.
For info: Contrary to what is stated in other remarks: Parking is 16 euro per day and has to be reserved in advance to...
