Great place, stunningly amazing food and on top of all that it was surprizingly cheap.
Can't give 5 stars, however... Because rare as I do complain about service, it did pose somewhat of an issue - place is fairly popular and busy, so when we just dropped in and asked about a table waiters just disappeared somewhere leaving us clueless for a few minutes at least; when we decided to go there again the history repeated itself except this time there were only two of us (as opposed to 7 on the first time) and we were bit more desperate for the food so gave up quickly and went elsewhere instead. Generally it's hard to explain why but it totally felt like we were seen as inferior people to locals (or at least german speakers). Not cool. In addition to that it was cash only which we were informed about when the closest ATM was basically already inaccessible and it made me walk half a mile to the next one. Not sure if it was temporary or they don't accept cards in general. Turned out to be only €150 per 7 people for a decent dinner, however.
If you are planning your dinner at least a bit in advance, save yourself that hassle we had to go through and book a table. For me it feels like a weird thing to do in a bar but oh well, might also improve your experience by like a lot so that you might enjoy your meal which, again, was great. I'd also suggest deviating from schnietzel-exclusive menu though and sample other great...
Read moreThe food was served lukewarm. The fish dish tasted very good even though it was lukewarm, but the roasted dumplings were just okay. Not bad but not that good either, especially because they were lukewarm and there was a small eggshell in the food. (Very small and I only noticed it when I took a bite of the food, but it still shouldn’t have been in there.)
It’s probably due to cultural differences, but it would’ve been nice if they had brought the bill and credit card machine sooner. They were busy, but it doesn’t take that long to pay. My 70-year-old mother was tired and needed to leave, but one of the staff yelled at her when she asked for the bill. We asked for the bill several times because they kept ignoring us, but we didn’t ask rudely, and you shouldn’t yell at your customers. (I waited at least 30 minutes for the bill from the time we first asked for it to the time it came.) Also, the staff continued to accept new customers even though they clearly had more customers than they could handle. That...
Read moreWe were wandering around to find a restaurant after visiting Belvedere, then we found this restaurant. It looked simple and traditional, but spacious. When we went there, it was past lunch time so we were the only customers. The waiters were so friendly, they also speak Italian. All of us ordered fiakergulasch🐮 and bread🥖 they gave us the drinks first while we were waiting for the food (it took around 20 minutes, pretty long maybe because we are a big group).
I love the goulash😍 I really recommend it! The meat was tender and they gave generous amount of sauce. It was good and tasty and the portion size was okay. In my opinion, the price was a bit expensive for me since we had to buy the bread separately (and we needed a lot of bread to eat the sauce with). Unluckily, I got less meat than some of my friends😆 (I hope they'll pay more attention to the portion size). Overall, I still recommend it if you're looking for a place to eat...
