We have just had the most horrible experience in Hotel Central Restaurant, IT IS BEYOND BELIEF. We were four of us sharing a bottle of wine before asking the waiter for the menu and ordered some food. We then discovered that there is more than one menu - we noticed at least three different. Different people were given different menus. We asked (it was no more that 2 to 3 minutes after we had ordered) if we could change our order but NO! Could we stick to the starter and just change the main course? NO !!! IT IS IN THE SYSTEM SO YOU CAN'T CHANGE !!! The waiter didn't care at all. We asked why other guests could order pizza as it was not on the menu we had been given. OH, BUT YOU DIDN'T ASK FOR THAT MENU THE WAITER REPLIED !!! And also YOU ARE SITTING IN THE WRONG PLACE. We couldn't order food from other menus where we were sitting and also WE USED THE LEFT ENTRANCE AND NOT THE RIGHT !!! We thought he must be joking but no he wasn't. Our starter was served, well the plates was handed to you and you had to grab the plates before it otherwise landed in your lap. Two of us had a salad with goats cheese. There was so much grit in the lettuce as if it had not been rinsed, the bacon was sooo fatty and really horrible, there was a huge block of cold (should have been warm) goats cheese, the grated carrot (we think it was carrot but it didn't taste of anything) was rubbery and it was the biggest starter we had ever experienced. Then to the mains. Three of us ordered tagliatelle with prawns. We had the biggest plate of food we had ever seen, and again it was completely tasteless. If we closed our eyes we would n't be able to tell what we were eating. All it was, was pasta, loads of cream and four - yes 4 prawns. It was horrible and we simply couldn't eat it. The waiter simply didn't care, he shook his shoulders, laughed and had completely the wrong attitude. He didn't say sorry or offered a discount or anything else. And hold on - we paid 245 Euros which was 245 Euros too much. Thankfully we didn't stay in...
Read moreThe Check-in you have to do it in the Central Restaurant at the bar area . ▪️We had the room no.9 with an excellent view down the Markt square and the Belfry of Bruges tower. ▪️Outstanding location with all the major attractions in 10mins walk distance. ▪️The room was warm during the day because the central heating was always on (adjustable temp) during the day time but at night only the wc heating was on. Even so , the room stayed quite warm with outside temp 3⁰d. ▪️The room was very pleasant at with no thin walls , very quite at night. Only around 7 ó clock when the carbage trucks are coming to clean the square, then you might hear some noises coming from outside. Being a person who sleeps light, everything went perfect. ▪️The only real problem are the bed mattress which they have to be replaced. At least in our room the mattress were not comfy. Especially my bed side was slightly reclining so I was feeling like I'm about to slide down off the bed. It wasn't that bad but for sure not comfortable at all ! 🔹So -1 ⭐ for this and also because the bathroom despite being very modern and good looking , it was some paint on the floor (probably from old painting maintenance) so made it look untidy and shabby work..it's a shame for a bathroom like this. Other than that the room was perfect.
P.S. I have to admit that there was a weird toilet odeur when we enter...

It was threadbare & dangerous. The picture on the booking confirmation was nothing like the room we got. The sleeping area was 9ft square, no heating, no window. The bathroom was okay with a small radiator and a window which had a "dangerous do not open" sign. So basically we were stuck with having to leave the bathroom door open to get any warmth at all. This brought with it a smell of stale urine which had over time seeped under the plastic floor covering. No fresh air at all and no escape route had there been a fire. !! The bedroom was not clean . You could (and we did )write in the dust on the walls. Fluff and litter under the bed also. All still there when we left. When we complained to the staff we were met with an indifferent shrug of the shoulders and sarcastic remarks such as., "do you like your lovely room? " This was as we passed in and out of the hotel during the 4 nights and days we were forced to stay there. They had taken our money and as it was New Year and all hotels were already full. We were told to complain to Booking.Com if we didn't like it. We have and are...
