English: It's a popular tourist hotspot in La Paz where many people go to have a look at the age old superstitions and beliefs that certain indigenous groups of Bolivia still believe in. You'll find Llama foetuses being sold here along with plenty of other potions, powders, and concoctions that are each targeted to alleviate particular issues that any individual might be facing. You'll also get all ingredients here that you'll ever require if you wanted to brew your own potion, or perform a luck changing ceremony and more. It's worth a one time visit if you're in La Paz in order to get an idea of this city's immense richness in the diverse things that the people here have involved themselves with throughout their history.

What makes a Nation or a society….. it is their traditions, belief systems and stories that creates their culture and builds the society. In the heart of La Paz only a block or so away from the San Francisco Church is an area that shows off the heritage of the Bolivian people. Stalls and large shops offer a whole variety of paraphernalia that caters to the ancient traditions and belief systems. On the sidewalks you can also find astrologers and card readers. The Mother Earth is worshiped here as the believers go about buying their items for their ceremonies and needs. The medicine men and women can offer services by blessing them as well. Interesting area to visit. Suggest taking a guide who can explain things in detail. The irony of a huge Catholic Church nearby cannot...

Oh my, the best place for gift shopping. They have absolutely everything! The market is huge spreading few blocks. Always negotiate and never buy at the first place you saw something. First I was offered textile for 600bs, then 450, then negotiated to 340, and bought another one for 240 from the street seller (not the store). Always negotiate, it’s the bazar! Mostly cash is accepted, only few stores accept credit cards. Just always have cash in Bolivia anywhere you go. Cash is king over there! You can find small restaurants that are absolutely amazing (recommended of course is Popular Bolivian Food, but it’s opened only 12pm-2:30pm and you need to make a reservation over there. While waiting your 45-50ml in you can walk around the...

Without any doubt, having seen many bizarre’s in my travel, this one takes the cake. It is absolutely vibrant and colourful but the further you walk along the stranger it gets becoming fascinating and surreal with a blending of ancient traditions with modern life. But you begin to see items used in Aymara rituals, such as dried llama fetuses (offered to Pachamama for blessings), talismans, medicinal herbs, and potions for various purposes like love or wealth. There are numerous traditional healers and loads of spiritual services like fortune-telling and cleansing rituals which are deeply rooted in indigenous beliefs and cultural heritage.
