The Sarajevo Cable Car, or "Sarajevska žičara," is a unique and historic transportation landmark in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Connecting the city center with the iconic Yellow Fortress (Žuta Tabija) on Trebević Mountain, the cable car offers both locals and tourists a picturesque journey and stunning panoramic views of Sarajevo.
Originally built for the 1984 Winter Olympics, the cable car became a beloved mode of transportation and a symbol of the city. Unfortunately, it suffered damage during the Bosnian War in the 1990s but has since been restored, reopening in 2018.
The ride on the Sarajevo Cable Car takes passengers on a scenic ascent to Trebević Mountain, providing a bird's-eye view of Sarajevo's unique blend of Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian, and modern architecture. At the summit, visitors can explore the restored Yellow Fortress, which holds historical significance dating back to the 18th century.
Beyond its practical function, the Sarajevo Cable Car has become a cultural attraction, attracting those seeking both adventure and a deeper connection to Sarajevo's complex history. Whether it's for the stunning vistas or a visit to the historical fortress, a ride on the Sarajevo Cable Car offers a memorable experience that intertwines nature, history, and the resilience of the city...

It was a great workout but honestly not that fun. The parts without service or when the track would be suspiciously far away from the suggested route...
