The most modern museum in whole Bulgaria (speaking as Bulgarian living abroad). Well preserved mosaics, well built interior allowing a very pleasant time for exploration inside the basilica. The price is 12lv per adult and as I remember 5lv per student(or 6) and there was the option for family tickets too (it is for 2 adults and 2 children) which costed us 24lv. Even the WC inside the museum was absolutely well maintained and there was even a sink for the kids (which is basically the only place in Bulgaria I’ve seen a similar thing). The basilica is on 2 floors. On the second floor there was a in interactive corner for kids related thematically to the basilica and the mosaics. On the way out of the museum there is a nice shop as well as a very good playground just outside the Basilica. The staff inside were all polite and professional and it was a pleasure interacting with them (not the case in other Bulgarian museums). If wondering which museum to visit while in Plovdiv-...
Read moreWow. Where to begin with. This is probably the best museum in Bulgaria. I am fully impressed and bow down to the team behind it as they have done an enormous amount of work. The architecture and interior are quite amazing. The story of the basilica is wonderfully intertwined in all interior details, maps, labels, audiovisual materials... The interactive panels are a great addition and are full of engaging content, in which one can learn more and delve into details of the gorgeous mosaics. There is a great kids corner with various games to enhance the experience. The museum is quite well thought in terms of quality materials, functionalities and execution. Welcoming wheelchairs. Outside the building there is a space for community gathering reminiscent of ancient times rituals. There is also a very nice playground. Would definitely come back once again in Plovdiv. Entrance is 12...

Set aside 2 hours if you wish to experience as much of the place as possible, but the walking platforms also allow you to quickly walk around and stop at the spaces that interest you the most. I'd definitely...
