We recently visited Halifax & truly enjoyed exploring Privateers Wharf. We discovered "Northern Watters Knitwear & Tartan Shop" and wound up with 2 beautiful sweaters. The shop owner was very friendly & explained the knitting/ materials in detail. Each item has the name of the person who knitted it. She pointed out that my wife's sweater was made by one of the founders of the knitting company & that she knew her well. The quality of the products was readily evident. They are fairly expensive but are the highest quality we've ever seen. That's why we ended up with 2.

The proximity of the waterfront & excellent restaurants only added to our enjoyment. Can't wait...

While I'll agree this is designed for tourists with the shops and restaurants, it does house the wildly popular Lower Deck, which locals love. (including the university crowd) It also houses shops with goods from Maritime artisans, giving them a place to market their world class products, and hopefully help them make a living. Looking beyond the surface, it's also a beautiful building that represents deep roots in Nova Scotian history. (for better and for worse) I live taking a walk through the building and around it when...

Beautiful place, it is located downtown with accessible parking and walking distance to all downtown amenities. There are nice pictures, different stores around (tourists attractions, cow ice cream, street food, board walk, and many other things) there are nice restaurants and pubs that can introduce lock food and beer. There is a walking distance to downtown Halifax, casino, hotels and famous place downtown Halifax, cathedral, even downtown business district.

The place is gorgeous and it looks like it is well maintained! The lights at night make this place nice for a romantic stroll with a view of the ocean at the end. Good place to visit if you are planning to do a tiny bit of shopping or to get some snacks like ice cream (although they have restaurants here too). I wish there are more shops at this place, but I guess the area and structures can only accommodate few.
