⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – A Halifax Classic for Live Music & Great Service The Split Crow is the heart of Halifax’s pub scene! From the moment you walk in, the energy is electric—live music that gets the whole place singing, a fun crowd, and top-notch service. The staff is friendly, fast, and always up for a good time, making sure your glass is never empty. Whether you're here for a lively night out, a classic pub meal, or just to soak in some great East Coast vibes, this place delivers every time. A true Halifax gem for live entertainment and a guaranteed great night. Five stars all the way! 🍻🎶

One guest wandered around the whole time we were there maskless and was hugging the bouncer and waiters with nobody trying to enforce the mask mandate. It seemed like a few times he was asked to wear his mask and he laughed and half put one on in jest. We asked our waiter who he was and why he didn't need to wear one and he said they give "a lot of leeway" and if everyone is double vaaxed why do we need masks. Not the point when it's the law currently and shouldn't be up to the staff to decide who needs to wear one and who doesn't. Won't be back anytime soon.

Dropped in on a Wednesday evening to listen to some music and grab a bite to eat. The music was great and the food was good. The nachos were massive and the toppings very generous. It wasn't too busy so the servers were very attentive. As soon as we finished our drink and didn't want another, we were served our bill. As we wanted to listen to a bit more music, having spent a fair amount of money, we stayed at our table for a bit longer. Music starts at different times depending on the day and the musicians can be found on the website.

10 of the FFF goers were on our way after the First Friday Faye meeting and went up to the Bluenose Restaurant but they had a 45 minute wait so I called the Split Crow and they had seating so up around the corner we went. Staff sat us at the upper level above the kitchen. The waiter arrived and told us the drink specials and that someone else would be by for the menu. Some had right away noticed how dirty the ceiling was, I didn't as I was too busy looking around and also watching the staff looking inside my buggy. The waitress arrived and started taking our orders and I was interested in the grilled haddock and I asked her if it is 1 side or 2 and she thought it must be 2 sides because there are 2 pieces. After quite a wait the meals started arriving. My haddock was 1 piece cut in half and the rice was dry, there was a pea slurry that really was. Another guy had a pulled pork burger he said that tasted like leftover from lunch. I talked to another participant who said he threw up when he got home. 2 people in the group did not receive their meal at all. The waiter finally came by a profusely apologised and told us there would be no charges for anything including the drinks. It was really bad and we...

I went there twice. Nothing special. Halifax bars are ultra corrupt when you consider the fact that places are allowed to ban you for zero valid reason at all. Even if you haven’t caused problems at a certain establishment, they tend to label and judge you as if you’re a bad person based on what they’ve heard. I’m seriously thinking of talking to the mayor or whoever is in charge of bars in the city and such legislation and getting it changed. It’s beyond unreasonable and not the way to treat people who might just happen to have Autism, and treat them as if they’re a bad apple. The only reason why I’m not ranking it a 1, is because almost every other bar downtown operates in the same manner and I’m sick and tired of it. A change must be made for how Halifax bars operate. The culture, the aggression, bars being allowed to act with impunity, playing the judging and labelling game, it all...

If you’re wanting a meal, stay away. If you’re going out to listen to music and have drinks, probably a good choice.

Stay away unless you’re wanting just to drink. Very strange service system with one service staff for drinks and a different service staff for food. 10 of us went out for a meal around 6:30 pm, of which 7 received food (not necessarily worth eating), one had a Caesar Chicken Wrap that was laced with the incorrect dressing that burned their mouth it was soo spicy, and two didn’t get their meal. However, the drinks person came around to the table about every 15 minutes to make sure we were all well lubricated. The food and service was horrible and just before asking to speak with the manger, we were given an apology for the poor service/food. We demanded that what had been served to be given free of charge - and they agreed. We left and won’t be back again for any...
